After waking even dreaming about the events from last night I sigh "I guess sooner would be better rather than later". After getting up I pour some of the water into a large bowl and wash my face and hands. I think about washing myself in the river nearby but decide not to since this shouldn't take long. After my small wash, I change into my usual clothes and head out.
Shutting the door behind I see the dirt road that leads into the town with the sight of the town a good bit of distance away I notice that the sun has not risen yet but enough light illuminates to see. As I travel the road I look off into the forest on the other side of the river. Sometimes I see deer others rabbits or wolves and even hunters. While on the left I see vast fields that are being cultivated by farmers and workers of the rich. Seeing them getting the files ready reminds me it's spring. After around thirty minutes I reach the entrance of town with most houses quiet around till I continue further in town you hear the bustling of shop owners, traveling merchants, and other professions setting up. As I watch for a minute taking in the view even seeing Ernval getting his forge set up with a clear sense of pride on his face.

I wave and walk over to him "Hey why are you up so early" he questions me a bit "And what happened last night you were happy but leaving that room you seemed disappointed" he strokes his beard

"Well" I scratch the back of my head "it's complicated," I said avoiding his gaze.

He huffs "Very well just know what you want and keep moving everything will work itself out" he pats me on the back.

"Thanks," I say before heading back to my task at hand. Continuing through town I see the Gorthalic church almost near the center of town. From listening to my family and having been there a few times it's currently the most widespread religion worshiping the three of the six great gods. Yhea God of War and conquest, Versha Goddess of Magic and Knowledge, Unag God of Nature, life, and death. The gods have a handful of lesser followers such as Ernval since he's a blacksmith he asks for success from Kac God of the forge. Kac is underneath Yhea, Continuing on I think about the gods I don't particularly worship any of them I only ask for Unag to not send a servant to collect me. Seeing the tavern I get closer and closer the more anxious I feel, seeing the sign above The Tipsy Cow with a crude drawing of a cow standing on one hoof on a chair.
I think about the many times I have seen this place this is the first that filled me with dread, outside the tavern is a familiar sight Sigla sweeping the outside as another worker Thesa is washing some stains off the doors from last night.

Thesa noticed me and probably out of instinct "We are not opened yet" she said with an agitated tone

"No no" I try calming the situation "I'm here for Sigla" Hearing her name she turns and a flash of intrigue turned to despair goes across her face. Thesa seeing changed her attitude but doesn't ask and watches "Can we go inside for a minute to talk about last night"

Sigla nods in agreement  "Yes" she sadly says "I'll be back in a while" reassuring Thesa.

Following her inside I see Cranth ordering around two more workers to clean the inside. Seeing the two of us and impartially me he becomes red with anger and shouts "WHAT IS THAT RAT DOING HERE" starting the workers and me.

Sigla heads over to him and whispers to him. All I could think of is if I fought him he'd more than likely win. Cranth stands back up a bit and calms down, but watches me intently. Heading back down the hall to the same room the memories play out again till I hear the clatter of the chairs snapping me out of my daze. She sits down and again pats the chair I sit and as we sit in awkward silence for a minute watching her fiddle with her thumbs I finally speak "So about last night" She sits up straight tense from this situation "I plan on keeping the secret"

I watch how she reacts at first happy then suspicious "Why" she lets out

"Well excluding this you've been a good person you've gone out of your way to help others and your good at your job and-" Before I could continue

"But you're a guard aren't you and even then I'm still wanted by the empire you serve" She starts to tear up

"You still did nothing wrong" I continue "so long as no one else finds out then we can pretend it never happened

She gets happy at that as I think I did my good deed of the day "but I still have questions"

She agreed "Ask any and if I can I'll answer as thank you" She brights up

"So umm" I scratch the back of my head "what are you or should I call you" Sigla has a confused look on her face "You know since you have a meat stick" Both our faces redden at this "Since I'll continue as is normal out in public when alone should I call you sir" I questioned

She thinks for a moment "Treat me as you always did since not much has changed"

Thinking of Lundgren's words from last night I decided to take a chance to see if I still feel the same as I did "As for my final question would you like to travel around the town square and look at the shops in about three days"

Catching my meaning her face blushes but before a reply Cranth bursts in "NO" he shouts speeding toward me " While I appreciate your help with this she should not risk anything more" he says in case anyone is listening

Sigla visibly angry by this shouts at Cranth "I'm an adult I will do what I want" Cranth turns to her "And I will go on a date with Yorn" she says to Smite Cranth "I need to live my own life now as you will not be around forever" Cranth now looks defeated
"Please leave Yorn I have to talk with Cranth"

"Ok umm see you later I rush out of the room shutting the door as I walk down the hall I hear shouting and other noises, as I exit the hall the two workers inside quickly get back to cleaning as I head out the tavern "Now it's time to the town dungeons"
