The big day has come I feel the an overwhelming sense of excitement and an equal amount of anxiety. I consider washing myself in the river, but I decide against it and wash my face then change out to somewhat bet clothes then I typically wear. Once I'm satisfied with myself I head out.
As I walk a farmer takes noticed to my clothes "You look pretty fancy for a guard today boy"
"No I have the day off so I'm heading to town for a while" I replied
"Yeah sure you are" as the farmer says back another who heard us moves his hips suggesting more. Seeing him my face flushes red and they burst into laughter "Don't burn the candle to long" they continue to laugh and knowing I won't get anywhere with the I leave
Making it into town I head straight to the tavern. The first I see of it is a well dressed woman standing in front of the tavern I found it unusual so when I get closer I start to tell her "the tavern is closed early so"
But before I could finish the woman turns around reveal the mystery woman to be Sigla "Yes I know" she looks at me a little dumbfounded
"Sorry umm wow" is all I let out as I lose my thoughts to her unnatural beauty and just stare
She giggles a bit and breaks the silence "If your done ogling me then lets go" she grabs ahold of my hand
"Ok" I let out after finding myself we begin to make our way to the town square
"What's the plan for today" she asks
"Well currently we'll go check out the stalls setup at the square, then we'll fo from there"
"So no real plan then" she shows a little disappointment
"Not exactly" I try to reaffirm her
As we chatter a bit we are standing in the center of town as crowds of people swarm around us she tightens her grip as I lead us to the nearest stall
The merchant excited for customers trys his best "Hello dear customers" the man picks up a small bag and opens it I peer into the bag "see this its spices from the city-state of Hegiba, very beautiful place you should visit take a smell" I breath it smell a little sweet but burns a bit of my nose "See you like it yes I'll sell it all for 10 silver"
Before I could respond Sigla comes over and is interested in the spices, after smelling she has an idea "How much of this do you have"
The merchant thinks and finally answers "a 5 pound bag and that's it"
"I'll take it" Sigla pulls out the silver and exchanges it for the spices. After tying it to her belt she looks around then at me "let go see that one" she grabs me by the hand and pulls me to another stall nearby that's selling jewelry and gems
As we get close a women running the stand is replacing what's been bought. Seeing we came over she spiffys up herself "Hello" is her first words to us before picking up a silver necklace with an emerald embedded in it. "This would look nice on your girlfriend what do you think"
Sigla gets a little red in the face but I affirm to the merchant "She isn't my girlfriend" causing her to be embarrassed
"I'm truly sorry then fiancée or maybe wife?"
Her words seem to further stab into Sigla that I finally call it "Neither but we are on a date" I hold on to Sigla's hand calming her down even though both the merchant and her feel embarrassed by this
"Again I'm sorry but this necklace would still make for an excellent memory for your date" she continues to try to sell her things.
Sigla gives in "how much for the necklace"
