Three years later in Fernila, the bustling city-state echoes with the noise of the innumerable amount. In the market district of the city you can hear the traveling merchants shouting to customers to see their wares and the customers at bidding markets shouting how much they will pay you can also hear small fights break out because of petty moments.

"GET BACK HERE THIEF" A man in chain mail chases after another man running with a few small bags of silver. The thief lacking anything really heavy swivels with ease through the crowd.
Seeing this no one really has an interest in risking their life to help stop a criminal so they either ignore it or step out of the way.

As the thief passes an alleyway another man darts out tackling him to the ground "LET ME GO" the thief shouts at this new man

"No can do"

"YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT" he starts shouting since he can't get free.

"Don't disrespect Yorn guard captain" the city guard who finally caught up said before looking at me"Thanks captain for the assistance"

"Don't worry abo-" Before I can finish a little girl starts to run over

"Papa Papa" she repeats running to us the guard shackles the thief as the little girl hugs me" Papa that was cool" she shouts

"Your Papa is cool I guess"

"He is the best" she finishes before I pick her up "Papa put me down" she demands as I hug her before I let her down

"Seems like you were having fun over here" A slender person walks over their long hair swaying as they walk the face causing some people to take glances at how beautiful they are.

"Good afternoon Sigla didn't think I'd see you till I got home a little later"

"I'm always happy to see you Yorn" Sigla kneeled down and pinched the girl's cheeks "You know not to run off on your own like that don't Isiret"

As she's being pinched "I'm sorry Mapa"

"Yeah that's what she's calling me now"

Finished with the pinch Sigla lets go and Isilet continues "It's the words Mama and Papa together" she says proudly

"If you'd like captain I'll give the report about this so you can be with your family the rest of the day"

"Thanks, Harbak" After hearing me he takes off with the criminal in front of him.

"Papa going to stay"

"Yes" With my reply she jumps around with excitement grabs my hand pulls me over to Sigla then grabs his.

"Let's go," she says excitedly

As we walk I think about how far we have come in these three years. After we got Sigla's shackles off we went into hiding as we traveled from towns and cities after a week passed word spread fast enough that we finally heard about what happened in Bamestis. After I heard I got the supplies we needed to continue the journey got back to the inn sat Sigla down and told him. What I learned was that Ernval, Cranth, and two others were arrested and executed the very next morning with these words Sigla broke down in tears knowing this was the most likely outcome. He didn't talk for the next few days in a  constant depression crying at random times.

My thoughts are interrupted by "Papa look" as Isiret shows me a dress that can fit her "Can I have it" she says with pleading eyes

I give in quickly "Of course"

"Yay thanks, Papa," she says as she runs to Sigla. My mind continues to wonder. After we heard about the execution of those dear to us the peasants started to rise up and they sent a small force to squash them. Continuing to make it across the border we only had to cross through three more borders then we would have to take a ship to get to Fernila since it's on an island.

As we continued more information would reach us in some form or another like traveling merchants or city guards talking to each other but piecing everything together by the time we reached the ship led to this conclusion I came up with. The uprising in Bamestis caused other towns and even cities that were unhappy with the empire's control to rebel the empire crushed them over and over and even regained control over its territory but they lost so many soldiers that the empire was in a very vulnerable state that I've heard that a few countries are going to band together and destroy the empire.

Being on the ship for a few days Sigla got nauseated from the rocking of the ship but rubbing his back made him feel better. Once we made it to the island we paid a carriage to take us to the city. We paid the entrance fee and the first thing we did was eat some tasty food. After that, we looked for an inn to stay at for a few days before looking for a permanent home to buy and work. We found a cheap house in the city and for work, Sigla was the first to find work at a nearby tavern since I'm skilled at being a guard I simply joined the guard our lives went well after a year of being in the city. One day as we were shopping a four-year-old girl was desperately looking for food and Sigla's kindness gave her some food as we asked around we found out her parents were dead and had been a street urchin. At this sad story and without my input Sigla decided we were going to take her in.

After months of trial and error she got used to us and eventually, she started seeing us as her own parents. This made Sigla extremely happy as Sigla once talked about his disappointment not being able to have kids with me because of obvious reasons.

"Papa done" My thoughts are interrupted again by Isiret's words

"Yes let's go" I pay the shopkeep and hand in hand the three of us head to our little house. As we walk I think about my own father and he was kind of right. I ended up rising the ranks and intend to reach the top but not with the same views he carried in his life. As these end up being my last thoughts having reached our home and entered inside looking forward to what tomorrow will bring.
