matt dropped mal off first which was honestly fine with her, she was really tired after the day and was so ready for a shower. she could feel the sand in places sand should NOT be.
mallee walked slowly towards the door as she watched matt drive off, waving goodbye to friends. when she reached the door she went to put her key in but realised it was already unlocked.
that was strange. mallekai almost always locks the door behind her unless her mums home which would be a rare occasion. mallee smiled thinking her mum for once wanted to be with mallekai instead of at the bar or something.
mal walked through the door, closing it softly and kicking off her shoes. she heard her mother clear her throat causing her to look up. her mum stood in the hallway a stern and angry look on her face. oh god this was going yo be great.
"mallekai jade rosewood. why did your school call me and tell me you weren't in majority of your classes today?" she asked trying to keep her cool.
"uhm.." mallekai wasn't sure what she should say.
"well you clearly weren't at school now were you. so where were you?" her mums tone grew louder and more frustrated by the second.
"i just hung out with my friends today at the beach.. i'm sorry mum.." mallee spoke softly attempting to not set off her mother any further. mallee doesn't know if she's had something to drink or not.
"you SHOULD be sorry mallekai! why would you skip class? I RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THIS!" her mothers voice echoed loudly, pounding mallekais head.
mal scoffed, "raised me? you barely even raised me mum. you have left me all alone almost every single day since I was 10. how the fuck is that raising me?" mallee confronted her mother. she knew it wasn't the brightest idea but she was so livid she couldn't hold it back.
her mother stood with her mouth wide open, she was shocked at what mallekai had just said but mal wouldn't take it back for a second.
"EXCUSE ME YOUNG LADY? I AM UOUR MOTHER DO NOT TALK BACK TO ME!!" her mother screamed at her causing mal to flinch at the subtle loudness.
"IF YOU WANT TO BE MY MOTHER THEN ACT LIKE IT FOR GOD SAKE! EVER SINCE I WAS 10 YOUVE BEEN GOING OUT TO THE BAR GETTING DRUNK OFF YOUR HEAD AND THEN GOING HOME WITH SOME STRANGER AND FUCKING THEM!! EVERY DAY I WAKE UP AND YOURE NEVER EVEN HERE!!! NOR IN THE AFTERNOON. I BARELY SEE YOU MUM AND WHEN I DO YOURE PASSED OUT ON THE COUCH OR HUNGOVER AS ALL HELL!!" mallekai was out of breath from screaming at her mother, there were tears rolling down her face as her chest heaved up and down.
"fine if i'm such a bad mother why don't you fucking leave mallekai. I don't want a little brat like you in my house. I never even actually wanted you in the first place, I hated you in all honesty I only claimed custody to hurt your father." her mother showed zero emotion when saying this. she was serious and the smug smile rubbed it in even further.
"how could you say that mum? i'm your daughter??" mallekai sobbed, she felt like she had just been punched straight in the gut.
"don't care mallekai. get out of my house right now. you have 5 minutes to pack a bag and then I want you OUT. you can come back when I feel like letting you." she spoke with such seriousness that it shattered mallekai completely. her own mother didn't love her one bit. mal nodded before racing up the stairs to her room.
