mallekai walked to school all alone, kicking at the stones that scattered themselves along the pavement. valerie slept in and had only JUST texted mal that she couldn't be bothered coming. lazy bitch.
corbin was also not walking with her since he hangs with his 'bros' some days of the week and today happens to be one of them. leaving mallekai all alone to walk to school.
her thoughts ran wild as her airpods played '18 by 5sos' in her ears, finding herself solemnly humming the tune. 5sos was lowkey her guilty pleasure, I mean 4 men from Australia who were hot as fuck in their teens - early twenties? yes please.
she hadn't spoken to matt since the fight that she may or may not have caused, matt honestly hadn't done anything in the moment something had just ticked her off. she was very irritable that week and she found out why a few days later. shark week.
mallekai was not someone you wanted to mess with on shark week and matt happened to be her victim, shouldn't have messed with her. though he hadn't done anything she was still hung up about what he said at the party, did he really think it was okay to say she was ASKING for it? like that's a little insane.
as the school gates come into view, mallekai remembers just how much she HATES this place and not to mention some of the people behind those gates. cough, cough, matthew sturniolo.
a loud sigh escaped from her slightly parted lips as she tucked her phone deep into her bag, the school had banned phones completely and gave you a dumb pouch to put it in if you brought it to school. not that anyone followed that rule obviously and neither did mallekai.
the ban came into place because kids were always on their phones, mainly during lunch but occasionally during class and the teachers or whatever thought it was bad for their health and they should be more social. which is dumb cause it just makes the kids more sneaky.
tossing a piece of bubble mint gum in her mouth and grabbing her time table, mallekai entered the pit of hell she would be stuck at for 6 hours. checking her timetable she sees hospitality first, great.
a dose of matthew sturniolo was the perfect way to start her monday morning hey! mallekai was really regretting not turning around and going back to her house.
her relationship with her mother was still rocky, mallekai had been trying her best to avoid any contact with her. though when they did make some sort of contact it was just brief conversations and awkward glances.
no sign of an apology or anything from her end and mallekai was not going to be the bigger person and apologise first, she was petty what could she say.
atleast she was at home again, she felt kind of like a burden staying at valerie's for more then 3 days. even if val's mum practically saw her as her own daughter, it just didn't feel right.
mal came home last week one random night, not bothering to warn her mum of her return. not that she needed to, she was out drinking until the early hours of the morning causing mal to come home to pure silence.
