❥ WE FOUND WONDERLAND
YOU AND I GOT LOST IN IT ❥🂱🂽🂱
Althea wrapped her hair up in a claw clip, stepping out of her bedroom to go make some liquid fuel once the new day started. She had a minor headache from the wine and the patron from the night before, which was honestly such bullshit considering Althea almost never gets hungover, no matter how much she drinks. She also usually never feels drunk, just an airy buzz even when she drinks enough to make anyone else drunk off their ass.
"Your house is so damn cold..." she heard a raspy morning voice say to her left when she entered her kitchen.
Her head turned towards the entry way connecting the kitchen to the living room to see Jackson Avery bundled up in the blanket she left in the living room. It was a large, fuzzy blanket she believed her grandmother brought as a pasalubong from a trip to the Philippines, and she only ever left it in the living room because it got too hot for her to use at night.
"Sorry," she said to him, but she wasn't really sorry. "I don't keep the heater on."
She went into the kitchen, starting on brewing some espresso.
"I can feel that," Jackson replied.
She could hear the creak in her floorboards that signaled to her that he was getting up. When she turned towards him again, he was still wrapped with the blankets around him and was leaning against the entryway that divided her kitchen and living room, merely staring at her.
"Do you drink coffee?" she questioned, turning away from his green eyes to her, ironically, green espresso machine.
He hummed out a response that kind of sounded like a, "Yes," so she grabbed two mugs from her cabinets. He then mumbled, "How the hell are you not cold?"
Here Jackson Avery was wrapped in the fuzziest and biggest blanket he could ever imagine to be wrapped in, and Althea Layog was walking around the freezing house in a black Naruto graphic tee and a pair of black and green checkered sweatpants.
"I run hot," she shrugged, her back still turned towards him.
That didn't mean she didn't feel when he walked behind her, close enough to place the back of his hand against her arm to feel her temperature. She wasn't wrong—she was warm to the touch, and she shivered at his touch. Was it because he was freezing or was it because he was putting the back of his knuckles against her skin? Definitely the first, totally the first.
"You do," he agreed with her, clearing his throat when he saw her visibly shiver from him and stepped back. He couldn't help but turn into a doctor for a moment, thinking of how her skin could possibly feel warm in this large, unheated house in the middle of December. "Have you gotten that checked out?"
