****Next morning***

*****Ersatz mansion****
"Mother, I have contacted them". Iglesias said to his mother as he entered the garden.
"Where are they?". Esmeralda asked looking up from a business book she was reading.
"They are here". Iglesias said. As soon as he said that the entire Lima family entered into the garden.
Esmeralda looked in their direction and beamed a smile.
"Welcome". Esmeralda said. Gina bowed her head as she took a seat motioning the others to do the same.
"Thank you". Dratyus replied.
"Tell the servants to bring them drinks".
Iglesias nodded and went away, after few minutes he walked back in with a maid carrying tray of drinks.
After themaid set up the drinks on the table in front of them, she bowed and left.
"Let's get down to business". Esmeralda said taking a sip of her favourite red wine.
Dratyus gave her rapt attention while Gina was praying earnestly to get money out of this rich woman.
Lila had already taken a can of pineapple drink off the table and had a sip.
"What business?". Dratyus managed to ask after being overwhelmed by the luxurious state of the tray not to talk of the house.
"My son wants to marry your daughter".
Gina choked on her own saliva and had a wide eyes to convey the true meaning of unexpected news dropped.
"Wh....what did you say?". Gina asked still in the state of shock.
"Yes. You heard correctly but the problem is that I want her to marry my son".
Now the shock was cover by confusion.
"Huh?". Lila was the one to speak up this time.
"I am Iglesias and your daughter wants to marry my brother but I want her". Iglesias said.
"Your point?". Gina asked
"His point is that we will give you 10million to stop your daughter from marrying Luca's my other son". Esmeralda said with spite in her voice.
"Ten....ten mill..." Lila said in a state of shock.
"Yes. Ten million. Deal?". Esmeralda asked.
Dratyus looked at Esmeralda with apprehension, he made a mental note to discuss this with Adriana. If she will listen to whatever he had to say.
"No".
"What?!" Gina said.
"No, I'm sorry but no". Dratyus said. He sure as hell got stares from Gina and Lila, but he didn't care.
"No worries. We will keep in touch just so you know and you're sure of what you are doing".
Esmeralda looked at Dratyus pointedly and asked Iglesias to show them out.
"Mother how sure are you that they will accept the offer". Iglesias said as he came back from showing the Lima family the door.
"They will. Trust me, poor people can do anything for money".

****Back from Ersatz mansion****
"What the hell was that about?". Gina asked her husband as they were in a taxi going back to their motel, since they didn't have any other place to stay.
"Please take me to Ersatz Enterprise". Dratyus told the driver.
"What are you going there for?". Lila asked her father as she sure as hell knew that the company was a big place.
Dratyus however didn't respond. He knew that was Luca's company as he had one day seen him and Adriana enter the company together when he went to work in a big café just opposite the company.

***30minutes later****
***Ersatz Enterprise***
Dratyus had told the driver to stop him in front of Luca's company so the driver did.
As soon as the driver dropped them and they came down, they were all shocked as to how a company could be lavishly furnished and decorated.
"How can she work here and we are suffering?". Gina questioned angrily.
"Shut up woman and I don't want to hear your voice again". Dratyus retorted as he was fed up with his wife's nagging.
Dratyus led the way and they all followed. They reached the receptionist and greeted.
"Hello. I'm here to see Adriana Lima please". Dratyus said.
The receptionist looked up and saw how worn out his face was due to hard labour.
"Do you have an appointment, Sir?".
"No. But please it's an emergency".
"Okay. Let me put you through". The receptionist said as she called Adriana's office.
"Hello miss. A man and his family wants to see you".
"A man and his family?". Adriana asked confused.
"Yes, miss".
"Okay. Send them up".
"Sure".
The receptionist returning her attention to Dratyus said "Erm Sir you can go up. The 34th floor".
Dratyus nodded and went straight for the elevator. Gina and Lila following him.

***34th floor***
As the elevator stopped at the 34th floor Dratyus saw Edmond coming towards Luca's elevator opposite him.
"Excuse me Sir. Where can I find Adriana Lima's office".
Edmond turned. "Good day Sir. Please do you have an appointment".
"No. It's an emergency. The front desk called her already so she's informed".
"Ohh. Okay. Move left and then the office at the far end is hers". Edmond replied, bowed and entered the elevator, all the while Lila gaping at him.
They all moved towards the direction and passed Luca's office. Luca through the see through glass only on the inside saw them and wondered who they were.
As the passed each door they read the titles on each. One door read 'CEO'S STAFF'. They went further and saw 'CEO'. They passed the office and went to the end of the hall which read 'CEO'S P.A'.
They all stood at the door gaping.
"Adriana is the CEO's p.a?" Lila asked getting jealous.
"No. There's probably a mistake. Knock". Gina told Dratyus.
Dratyus breathed in and knocked. He knocked twice.
"Come in".

***Adriana's office***
"Come in". Adriana said as she was working on her computer not looking up as she had a deadline to summarize Luca's schedule for the month.
Dratyus opened the door. As soon as they walked in they were marveled.
The Adriana they knew before wasn't the same person seated there. She was more confident, elegant and she had added healthy weight.
When Adriana didn't get any response, she looked up.
"No way". She said shaking her head frantically. She dragged her office trousers suit and walked away from behind her desk.
"What the hell do you want?". Adriana said almost yelling.
"Child. We want to tell you something". Dratyus said.
"No. Don't. Get out all of you". Adriana said almost at the point of tears.
"Why do you hate me so much?" Dratyus asked.
Adriana scoffed. "Why do I hate you?. If you stood up for me when this ungrateful woman I have as a mother threw me out of the house, then your question would have been valid.
"Ungrateful woman?. How dare you?". Gina fired back.
"Enough". Dratyus said.
"No. How dare this bastard child call me ungrateful after everything I've done for her". Gina said practically shooting out fires from her eyes as she stared at Adriana.
"Bastard child?". Adriana fired back.
"Hell yes. Oh, wait 'daddy' didn't tell you". Gina said making mockery of the word daddy.
Adriana looked at her father and said" Tell me what father?. Tell me what?". Adriana said.
Dratyus looked at Adriana and said" I'm sorry child. I didn't mean to hide the truth from you".
"Bullshit. Cut the crap already". Gina said getting tired of the rollercoaster of talks Dratyus was on.
Gina looked at Adriana and dropped the bomb "I'm not your mother".
Adriana couldn't comprehend anything. What did she just hear?. Even Lila was in shock.
Did the woman she had known for 22and half years just say she wasn't her mother?. She had been living a lie?. No fucking way.
