Adriana just stared blankly at her mother, no, the woman she thought was her mother for 22 years.
She stared at her father.
"Dad. Is this true?. What.... For 22 whole years.".
"Dear, I wanted to tell you".  Dratyus said.
"Why didn't you?. Huh?. Why?. You watched as I stopped attending school, I worked my ass off for this woman thinking she was my mother. I received insults from her but kept quiet with the regard that she was my mother. And you dare to tell me you wanted to?". Adriana said boiling. She was already mad.
No. She was rather grateful because now she can talk back without holding her tongue.
"Why did you come here?". Adriana asked not waiting for her father to answer her.
"Your mother died, child. She died birthing you".
Adriana had had enough." Why did you come?".
Gina scoffed. " Mrs. Ersatz wants you to marry her son. Not the other one, the one they call Iglesias".
"Mrs..... How did you?".
"Never mind that. Now as your imposing mother, you will marry him".
"Yeah right". Adriana scoffed. " Screw you. And you motherhood over me".
Gina raised her hand to slap Adriana but Adriana stopped her in time.
"Don't you dare. I gave respected you because I thought you were my mother but you're not, so don't even think about it. Now, get the hell out of my office. Both of you". Adriana said looking between Lila and Gina.
They both scoffed and walked out of Adriana's office. As they went out, Edmond was going into Luca's office and saw them before disappearing into the office.

"Father. Tell me. Everything".
Dratyus looked at Adriana and said" Let's sit dear".
Adriana motioned him towards the black couch in her room.
"Your mother was a really beautiful woman. I was from a well to do home but she wasn't. My parents paid her parents off for me to marry Gina. I still loved her. Her name was Diane. She was pretty. Each time I saw you, growing up, you reminded so much of her that I feel like she reincarnated partially in you. After three years of being married to your mother, no child. I was still seeing Diane, at some point she told me she was pregnant and made sure she was comfortable. When you turned one was when my marriage with Gina turned three and the affair with your mother turned two.
After she gave birth to you on 12th of July, she told me something. She said that I should take care of you and that she will never stop loving me and that I shouldn't let history repeat itself. That's why when Mrs Ersatz wanted to give us ten million for you to separate from him, I don't know his name I said no".

Dratyus paused to look at Adriana. She was neutral but got the message.
"I didn't like seeing her bully you dear but I didn't want to see you hurt. 'Lying they say has many vices, but it's justified if it's to protect the ones you love. But be mindful not to let it linger it might cause disaster'. She told me this before she died. Your mother. Diane Streya. Hilo Cemetery".

Adriana looked at her father with tears in her eyes. He had always understood her even without her talking and it was one characteristic she prayed her husband would have. 'Luca has it' her mind told her. Adriana shook her head slightly to stop the thought.

"Can you show me the young man?". Dratyus asked.
Adriana smiled, one that reached her eyes. She walked out of her office, her father infront.
"Where are you guys going?". Lila asked.
"To see the young man the woman wanted to give us ten million for". Dratyus replied.
Gina's eyes shot up. She was expecting to see a ragged man, for them to be offered ten million. Maybe the son was poor?. Gina thought. But sure as hell that he wasn't worth even a million dollars.

Adriana led them to the door they passed before. It read 'CEO'. They were shocked.

****Knock knock***.
"Come in". Luca's you boomed from the office.
Adriana shot her head in "May I?".
Luca nodded. How could he tell her no.
As soon as Adriana opened the door wide and other members of the family came in, she shut the door.
"Luca. I'm sorry. Mr Ersatz".
"Nah. Luca's fine".
Gina and Lila were still trying to compose themselves. Mr Ersatz?. If this man they saw here was the son for the ten million, he was worth over a hundred.
"This is my family". Adriana said, pointing at her father and the two other women.
"Dad, Luca Ersatz".  Adriana said pointing at her father and Luca. " Luca, my dad, Mr Dratyus Lima. And this is Gina and Lila".

Luca stood up and got to shake Dratyus hand. His countenance changed when he saw dried up tears mark on Adriana's face. Adriana gave him a sign that later they would talk as she saw his eyes get red.

Luca walked over to Gina and Lila and stood, hands in pockets.
"So the woman and I presume you are the sister". Luca said pointing at Lila. He breathed in and said " Well, what you did brought her here, so thank you. But as from henceforth, don't do anything to hurt her, understood?".
Luca stared at Gina and Lila slowly, his gaze dark and scary.
"Yes sir". Gina said out of fear. Lila on the other hand couldn't talk. She wondered how a man so handsome yet so scary.
After Dratyus and Luca had a father-son discussion, Luca began to see that Adriana's father was quite like his father. Words of wisdom, familiar to both men.

Luca then thought that he was definitely going to make Adriana his wife no matter what.
