7.1: The Encounter, Meeting Optimus Again (Hiccup)

Meanwhile in the woodlands of Berk, Hiccup has been in the woods for half a day and by now it's the late afternoon and he's still looking for the dragon that he shot down. He stopped by a spot as he looked over his replicated map of Berk before looking and expected that something was in front of him but saw nothing. Letting out a tired and dejected sigh, he walks off as he adds another 'X' on the page before his hand starts to shake. He proceeds to scratch his charcoal pencil on the entire map out of frustration before letting out another sigh while snapping his book closed and pockets it in his vest.

"Ugh, the gods hate me. Some people lose their knife or their mug." Hiccup muttered loudly as he kicked some pebbles out of his way.

"No, not me. I managed to lose an entire dragon!" He said loudly in frustration, not noticing the mark of his left hand was starting to glow.

Hiccup whacks a low-hanging branch out of frustration as he tries to continue his trek to only for the branch to snap back at him, hitting him right in the face. Yelping in pain and surprise, he rubs his eye and glare at the branch but his glare faded as he saw the condition of the tree the branch was attached to. The tree that the branch was attached to was snapped in half as if something hit it on the way down. His eyes followed the destruction as he saw that there was an unfamiliar trench of upturned earth as if something crashed down there. Feeling curious and the need to investigate, Hiccup slid down the trench while minding where he stepped.

Questions on what happened in the area circulated in his mind. Climbing up the trench, he stifled a startled gasp as he ducked back down when he saw something. Steadying his breathing or trying to, Hiccup looked back up over the trench in nervousness and awe. There was something tied down there. Breathing unsteadily, Hiccup fumbled around his vest before grabbing the knife that he was given by his father.

Taking in slow and deep breaths, he came down from the trench but stumbled towards a boulder with the knife at the ready. Pressing his back to it, Hiccup inched closer to the creature as his breathing became unsteady again.

Coming around from behind the boulder, Hiccup finally got a good look at what it was and his heart pounded in his chest. He recognized the bola. It was the dragon. The Night Fury!

Staring in shock, Hiccup got a good look at the dragon and tilted his head in curiosity. This dragon seemed to be in different varieties in color. It was mostly white but he noticed that it has green and red stripes on the sides of its neck and side of the body. From the head were rows of small fin-like spine which ended at the neck and restarted at the base of the tail. There were dark gray stripes on the legs which were a light shade of gray as well as the underside of its stomach which was red like the small spine-like fins.

He noticed that the wings were a dark gray with white, the tips were a green color and at the very joint was what looked like a blade and surrounding it was a red color. He noticed that the tail was with the same dark gray stripes. There were two blades protruding from where what looked like tailfins started.

Eyeing the dragon more, he noticed that it wasn't moving while wrapped in the bola he used. A moment of shocked silence, Hiccup is reeling in the fact that he actually did in fact hit the Night Fury.

"Oh wow. I-I did it. I did it. This-This fixes everything." Hiccup said in excitement. This could fix his reputation and help get the attention he needed especially from his father!

"Yes!" Feeling elated, he neared the dragon and struck a victory pose while planting his foot on the fallen dragon.

"I have brought down this mighty beast-!" Hiccup exclaimed only for something to happen.

It suddenly shifted and shoved him off its leg.

"Whoa!" Hiccup springs back, terrified as he pressed himself against the boulder and distanced himself from the dragon. Even from the fall, it's still alive?!
