Chapter 26: Tomoka's side 7

Yesterday I informed Hakuto, that I decided to hire Arisa as a beta-tester for the Aristocrat game, because of her detailed bug report and enthusiasm. The idea was to let her partly work in her present position and partly on the game. But she would be forbidden to work on it at home.

Of course these were not the real reasons to hire her. First I wanted her to not work so hard on the game at home and the second was that I... as Riana felt lonely in the other one. And for the last I wanted to have her closer.

Hakuto had all the necessary instructions and so I left it to him.

I was just doing some usual work when Arisa suddenly appeared in our workplace. A door into my office was slightly open and so I heard all the conversation of her with Hakuto. As we agreed on before, he installed our messenger app into her mobile phone and I just waited for her to appear on the list.

(Finally! She is here.)

„(Hello and welcome to the team.)"

I sent her one message immediately and waited for her reply.

„(Thanks.)"

„(How do you like your work?)"

„(It is interesting. I like it.)"

„(Good to hear that.)"

„(Mmm.)"

„(I will now let Hakuto to explain things to you. Bye.)"

„(Bye.)"

We chatted a bit and then I let Hakuto to finish his work. After Arisa left the workplace, I moved to my private room and awaited her arrival.

„(Hello.)"

She finally appeared in the game. I was very happy to see her there again... Riana was quite lonely last days.

„(Hello.)"

„(What do you want to do today?)"

„(I thought about some training.)"

„(Okay... let's go. ^^)"

I was really happy to see her.

„(Umm... did you miss me?)"

(Does she read my mind?)

„(Yes. Others are quite boring here and take it too seriously... and so I am glad, that you want to talk with me.)"

I gave her a reply. But I didn't talk just about the game... Hakuto and others here are quite boring and serious too. I was happy to have Arisa talk to me, it always raised my mood.

Arisa wanted to train today and so we decided to go into mountains. I checked some beautiful spots beforehand and one of them was there. While walking up the hill I asked...

„(Kathy... look, do you like the scenery here?)"

But there was no response. When I turned around, she was gone.

(No! What happened?! Where is she?)

I quickly checked the logs and found, that her character died. I started to panic... but then calmed down.

(It is Kathy, who died... not Arisa.)

When a character dies in the game, a message is displayed on the player's screen and then they are revived in their respawn point.

I remembered, that I set it before to the demon lord's castle and so quickly started also the second laptop and waited for Arisa to arrive there. But she thought, that the demon lord is Hakuto, not me and so I didn't want her to stay there for too long and so just as she appeared I teleported her back to Riana.

As Riana I had to look clueless and so I was acting like still looking for her...

(Ah... it is so hard to be in love.)

„(Kathy! Where are you?!)"

„(I am here.)"

„(Good to see you again. What happened?)"

„(It seems, that I tripped, died and appeared in the demon lord's castle... but he returned me back here before I was able to react.)"

(I am so glad, that she is back and alright.)

I was watching her for a while, but she was not moving.

(Is she thinking about something?)

(Is she thinking about me or... the demon lord?)

(I have to stop her. I don't want any dangerous questions to appear in her mind now.)

„(Defend yourself!)"

I wrote that and attacked her. We came here to train and fighting was the best way to chase away any thoughts.
