It was the following Monday from when Kara and Lena started dating. Kate was currently leaving her physics class and heading to rehearsal. Since the nightmare on that Friday, Kate stopped wearing makeup to hide her wounds. Her black eye healed by the first date. She no longer wore long sleeves to hide her bandages.
Of course she has gotten a lot of questions, sometimes she answers them, other times she doesn't. Most students understood why she declined on answering, there were some that were less than pleased.
Now, with her physics teacher dating her mother, it was a little weird. Kara never gave Kate any sort of special treatment just because she at the time had a crush on her mother. Now on their first days back since they started dating, still no special treatment, and Kate was grateful for that. If Kate did receive any sort of special treatment, it was on her first day in the form of extra work to catch up, but even that could not be considered special treatment.
But as she was heading to the auditorium, an announcement came through the intercoms and tvs littered throughout the school. Jason Ionello and Betty Brant began reading off the announcements.
"Alright everyone, are you ready for some drama?" Jason asked.
"Well then, come see the winter play, Romeo and Juliet. Tickets are on sale now." Betty continued.
"And just a week after the show will be out Winter Ball. Have you asked anyone?"
"I in fact have." Betty replied.
Jason seemed kind of hurt.
"I, uh, yeah. Me too."
"We hope to see you there, and don't forget to ask that special someone to the dance."
A ball. Kate thought. I need to ask Yelena.
Kate started spiraling in her thoughts of ways to ask Yelena, but all thoughts came to a halt when she made it to the auditorium.
In the auditorium were several racks and carts of clothing.
"Ah, Kate." Loki said as he noticed her walk in. "H.R., where did we put Kate's costumes?"
"I believe it's that rack next to you. On your right." The band director said as he was hanging up a costume someone gave him before going and trying on the next costume.
Loki walked over to the rack H.R. pointed out and looked at the label on the top of it.
"Thank you. Kate, are you alright to try these on?"
"Yeah, I should be fine." Kate responded as she put her new backpack down.
Kate walked up the stage and Loki handed her a dress. Kate took it into a restroom in the back and quickly changed. She did have some difficulty getting it on with some of the lasting pain. But she was able to get it on. But as she walked out, she ran into Yelena walking in to try on her costume.
"Kate Bishop, you look nice."
"Thanks, unfortunately, I don't like dresses. But for the play, I push through it."
Yelena looked her up and down.
"Yes, I agree, you would look better in a suit."
Kate blushed as she walked back to the stage.
"Perfect." Loki said as she came on stage.
"Agreed." H.R. said next.
"Ok, now swap with this." Loki said as he gave her the next costume.
For about half an hour, Kate and everyone else kept trying on different costumes. Once they were done, everyone went back to their casual clothing and sat down in the auditorium. Loki and H.R. took center stage for an announcement.
