"Are you alright, Kate Bishop?"
"Yeah." Kate lied.
She could feel tears building up behind her eyes, but she pushed them down.
"What was your question?" Yelena asked.
"You know what, nevermind, it wasn't important."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." Kate continued to lie. "I have to get going anyways, I have some more homework to do."
"Kate?" Yelena asked, worried.
"I'm fine, I promise." Then Kate turned and jogged to her mother, Yelena hollered after her.
It didn't take long for Kate to find her mother by her car and Kara's, talking to her.
"Mom, can we go now?"
Lena turned to Kate and her smile fell when she saw her face.
"Of course." Then she turned back to Kara. "See you tomorrow."
"Yep." Kara smiled as she kissed Lena.
Lena and Kate got in the car and drove home. The entire way home, Lena didn't say anything, she would occasionally reach over and rub Kate's shoulder gently.
Once they were home and walked through the door, Kate immediately ran to her room and slammed the door.

Someone knocked on Kate's door.
"Come in." She sniffled.
Lena slowly opened the door with a pair of mugs with tea in them.
"Hey, sweetheart. Do you want to talk about it?" She asked gently.
Kate shook her head. Lena gave her a sad smile before giving her a mug. Kate took a big gulp of tea and then let it all out.
"She has a boyfriend."
"What?" Lena asked.
"Yelena has a boyfriend."
"How do you know? Did she say she had one?"
"No, but this guy came running up to her and kissed her."
"Oh, I'm so sorry, Kate."
"I just don't get it. I thought we had something! A connection! I thought it was a mutual attraction, but I guess I was just reading into it."
Lena sat down next to Kate and pulled her in for a one armed hug.
"Love sucks." Kate said.
"I know, trust me I know."
"I wish I couldn't feel anything."
"Kate, you don't want that. If you did, you would become a spineless shit like Morgan Edge."
Kate started laughing.
"Thanks, mom."
"Of course, sweetheart. Now, go ahead and get some sleep."
"Ok."
Lena took Kate's now empty mug and left.

The next day, Kate avoided Yelena like the plague. Not wanting to deal with her feelings and pain. Yelena definitely noticed, but everytime she tried to talk to her, she would run the other way, ignored her texts and calls. Yelena was getting worried.
"Why is she avoiding me?" Yelena asked, sitting at her siblings table at lunch.
"I don't know? Did you do anything?" Natasha asked.
