Mike's POV

I let out a yawn as I sat up. Not entirely sure why, but it feels like somethings not entirely right...

Out of nowhere two small hands from under the bed grabbed my ankles. I shrieked and they let go, next thing I knew there was childish laugher coming from under the bed.

A small head poked itself out from the gap and I narrowed my eyes, "Kevin, what the actual fu- ahem- heck."

He smiled with glee, "I was bored and no one else was around."

"I could have kicked you."

"No regrets," Kevin ended the conversation and skipped out of the room with a silly grin on his face.

I shook my head, "Heh, damn kid."

After I got ready for the day and slipped on a dark green beanie, I went to check on Jeremy only to find not in his room. I frowned and ran into the kitchen to find Julia getting some cereal for Kevin and Theresa, without milk of course.

"Have you seen Jeremy?"

Julia gave a reasuring smile, "Vincent forced him to go to the grocery store with him to buy some bread."

"Couldn't he have gone by himself?" Why in the world would Vincent take him alone? Ugh, that grape is unpredictable. Hopefully he'll bring him back safely. Sometimes... just sometimes I want to ring that purple neck of his.

I jumped at the sound of the front door opening and Vincent's voice yelling into the room, "We're back!"

Julia smiled seeming a bit too giddy that he was back, almost instantly running over and wrapping him in a bear hug. What I found funny was that I did the exact same thing to Jeremy. He gave a little squeal of surprise and looked up at me with those beautiful green eyes of his.

I eventually let Jeremy go, "Vincent didn't hurt you did he?" I turned to Vincent, "I swear if you did anything that could have put him in danger-"

I was cut off by Jeremy shaking my arm a bit while laughing, "Mike! I-I'm fine! H-He just brought me to the store to get some b-bread!"

Chuckling, I bent down a little bit so I was eye level with him, "That's all?"

He smiled, "Yup."

Almost seconds after he said that a little charging football player named Kevin knocked Jeremy over. The two brothers lay on the floor laughing and I joined in, well that's Kevin for you.

Julia snickered a bit as she opened one of the letters we had gotten in the mail. Suddenly she spit out a bit of her tea, "I forgot!" Julia sputtered and pointed at Kevin, Jeremy, then Vincent, "You three! Go to the clothing store and get something nice to wear, we have family photos and you're all going to be in it!"

Kevin was the first to speak up, "What? Why are we-"

Julia interrupted him, "Mike you drive, I already have outfits for the others but they need them! Hurry!" She shoved us out the door and handed me my keys, "GO!" She then slammed the door shut.

I let out a sigh, "Alright, let's go then." We walked down the drive way and got in the car. Jeremy rode shotgun while Vincent and Kevin sat in the back.

"S-So, family photos?" Jeremy asked.

"Yup we took one a long time ago while our parents were here but we're taking another one. And no objections you're going to be in it." We took off down the street.

~·~

Lucky for us the place wasn't that busy, just some older folk that were walking around.

"Ok, Vincent?"

He looked at me, "Yeah?"

"You can shop for yourself right?" I didn't wait for a response, "Take Kevin with you and find something for him too, I'll help Jeremy out." Vincent nodded and took Kevin's hand then began to explore the store. It'll be good for those two to bond, right?"

Vincent's POV

Wow, Mike can be an idiot. Leaving me alone with a seven year-old? Damn... I'll try not to kill him, heck, Julia would probably kill me if I did that.

Kevin looked up at me with his brown eyes, "So... what am I gonna wear?"

"Something with a black bottem, that's for sure," I got down on my knees so I could be eye to eye with him. I saw a shiver go down his spine, that happens a lot with me.

"What are you doing-?"

I shushed him, "I'm trying to figure out what color would look best on you," Not something to bold but not something too dark either. Maybe a red orange? No... what about a light yellow? Yeah let's try that. After telling him to stay put I left to find a nice shirt for him.

When I returned with a few shirts I had found for Kevin to try on he wasn't where I had left him! I began to panic, where could he have gone to?! I wasn't gone for that long was I? Then without a moments hesitation I began to run around the store calling his name. Around the third time I yelled for him I spotted him. He was standing by some men's sweatshirts, admiring a few.

"Kevin!" He turned around and smiled at me, "Don't you wander away ever again... wait what's that?"

Kevin handed me a dark purple sweatshirt, to be completely honest I liked it a lot. It had this cool button up thing that you would have for a suit but it led up to a hood.

"I thought this would look good on you," He handed it to me and I took it carefully into my hands and felt a small grin crawl onto my face.

"Thanks Kevin..."

"No problem," I couldn't help but smile as we walked to the dressing rooms to try on our new outfits for the photo.

If I know one thing it's that if I have a kid I want them to be just like Kevin.
