Elizabeth...
A faint voice.
Elizabeth... Can you hear me?
A little louder, but it seemed far away.
Wake up... Elizabeth...
My eyes opened and I coughed hard, lots of water coming out of my mouth. Then I rolled to my side, throat hoarse.
When I propped myself up on one elbow, vision a bit blurred, a lot of people surrounded me.
Where am I?
I looked around. People were staring at me, faces worried and curious.
Whispers filled the air.
"What happened?"
"Did she fall?"
"No, I think she slipped from the second diving board."
"Her scream was terrifying."
"I thought she'd drowned."
Suddenly, a cold hand touched my left shoulder.
When I turned around, a familiar face greeted me, wide eyes full of concern.
Jiseok?
"Jeno!"
An adult man wearing a white collar shirt and jogging pants moved past the crowding students, towards me and the guy who looks like Jiseok.
"Jeno, is she okay?"
"She's awake, sir."
The man crouched beside me and examined my head.
"No bleeding in the head, but she might have a concussion. Good job on the CPR, Jeno." He then glanced at me and asked, "are you okay, Elizabeth?"
That name again.
But if they're calling me that, then does that mean my name is Elizabeth here?
My eyes widened.
Am I back in my dimension, but in the past?
I tried to stand up but the slippery floor made it difficult so Jiseok's lookalike, Jeno, helped me up.
"Be careful." He said.
I'd only realized how cold it was when I finally stood up. Looking at my feet on the wet floor, I realized I was wearing a dark red swimsuit. And so was everybody else.
Swimming class, most likely.
"Elizabeth, can you talk?" The man, whom I assume was the teacher in this class, asked again.
I was about to say yes, but I suddenly remembered the watch.
"My necklace." I blurted out as I touched my neck, the silver chain missing.
Panicked, I looked around on the ground, then in the blue pool.
Nothing.
"It's here," Jiseok—or rather Jeno—said, showing his hand with the pendant.
I snatched it and opened the lid.
"I don't think it's worki—"
"2018..." I mumbled. "I-D... 2?"
"Come on, Jeno. Help me bring her to the clinic." I heard the teacher say.
He had wrapped a towel around me while Jeno assisted me, my left arm over his shoulder as we walked out of the indoor pool.
