When I pressed the button, the same red portal opened up and sucked us in.

The same pain engulfed my body as I traveled through it into the next dimension.

And just when I was expecting to wake up in someone else's body, it didn't happen.

Instead, the portal opened up beneath me, revealing a bright white light at first before a tinge of green came into view.

The green color became bigger and bigger until I could make it out: grass.

In a blink of an eye, the portal spat me out onto the hard ground, knocking the breath out of me.

I squirmed weakly on the ground, clenching the grass beneath me as I gasped for air.

The fall was hard, making my whole body ache from head to toe, and my bones felt as if they were broken.

I couldn't breathe properly, it felt as if I was dying.

I thought about the old man who gave us the necklace as I laid there in pain. Then I thought about the device.

I thought that maybe the reason why we couldn't go home was because our intentions weren't in line with what we were supposed to do, Haechan and I.

Maybe, the reason why we couldn't find Minhyung was because we were looking for the wrong person.

Maybe, if I think hard enough about how to find that person, the device will finally take me there.

Breathing heavily, my eyelids began to droop. And then all of a sudden, it was black.

When I woke up, I hurriedly sat up on the soft green grass

When I woke up, I hurriedly sat up on the soft green grass.

The pain in my body had eventually subsided, although it lingered.

When I stood up, albeit slowly, I then remembered the device.

Instinctively, I searched my pockets before realizing that my old clothes were back.

I was wearing the same clothes I had on the day it all started. And then I remembered Haechan.

I only realized it now but the place was silent.

"Haechan!"

I shouted out his name, looking around and waiting for him to answer.

"Haechan! Where are you? Haechan!"

Nothing.

This land of grass was vast, the skies a clear blue color, but Haechan was nowhere to be found.

I was all alone.

What is this place?

I started to look for the device, finding it on the ground a few feet from me. I must've dropped it when I landed here from the portal.
