Blood. The essence of human life. Humans needed it to live, it was necessary for their survival. It was also necessary for your survival. But not in the same way. There wasn't any blood running through your veins. Therefore your skin was as pale as the one of a corpse with just the same, icy cold, temperature. People started to shiver whenever the tips of your fingers grazed against their skin. They were terrified of you since you hunted down their kind, slaughtered them, the life leaving their body slowly the more blood you sucked out of their veins.

Humans were fragile compared to you. They neither had the strength nor the speed or agility you possessed. You were a stone cold killer while they let themselves be lead by their emotions. Pathetic, in your opinion. All they were, was mere food, nothing more than nourishment, to all the creatures roaming around the world. Yet somehow, humans were the most advanced species of them all. They created weapons to protect themselves from the horrors of this earth. They build houses and buildings, higher than the tallest trees, to shield them from anything that could mean harm to them. They even made up their own God who they honored and prayed to.

All this were things beings like you could only laugh at. As if the cities they build, the weapons they developed or the God they created could protect them in any way if some day the other species outnumbered them. The only advantage humanity had, was its sheer number. In all other respects, creatures were far more superior to humans.

There were many creatures lurking in the shadows of the night. The one species you belonged to, Vampires were the ones that were the most similar to humans, starting from the appearence going on to the behaviour. But Vampires fed of humans blood, for them humanity was only mere food, their cities were their pantries and their blood was the vampires wine.

Then there were werewolves who could wander amongst humans like a wolf in sheep's clothing when they were in their human form. But as soon as soon as the full moon rose, they turned into large, wolf-like creatures, hunting in the forests and not making halt before the sheep flocks of the humans. If desperate enough, they would even devour human flesh.

Once human, now nothing more than a shadow of who they once were. Ghosts. Haunting humanity out of hate or only for the fun of it. Ghosts were human sould who couldn't find rest after their death and were destinied to roam the earth endlessly unless they achieved their one goal they couldn't achieve as living beings.

These were not the only creatures but the most common ones. Dragons, Phoenixes, Ghouls, Seamonsters, even Unicorns were claimed to be seen. Although it's not exactly sure if these eyewitnesses really saw Unicorns or only mistook a Velox for one.

Right now you were roaming through a large city known for its number of famous Vampirhunters. Perhaps it was a foolish decision to seek food here but you were a rather young and inexperienced Vampire and therefore full of confidence and assertiveness. All around you, you could perceive the delicious scent of fresh blood flowing through the veins of your potentiel victims. Your nose full of these tempting odours, you scurried through the streets and alleys of Yokohama.

Then one scent stood out of them all. Your sensitive nose had detected the perfect prey. Almost like a moth following the light, you followed the scent until you eventually found the source of it. You stood in front of a window, the room inside brightly lighted by a chandelier. It seemed to be a living room of a noble family. They seemed to be fairly wealthy judging from the interior decoration. Inside the room, seemingly getting ready to go to bed considering her nightgown, was a young women, a girl even. She had long dirty blond hair and pale skin. Her scent was mesmerizingly delicious.

Circling around the rather big house, you searched for an entrance through which you could enter the residence. There! An open window leading into the cellar. These foolish humans still believed vampires couldn't enter their houses unless they were invited. Another weakness of humanity. Making up stories and fairytales only for them to feel safer and better about themselves.
