And here you were again, wandering through the streets of Yokohama in the search of prey. The same surroundings, the same goal, even the breeze felt the same. Cold with a promise of rain. Yet there was this feeling that crept up your spine and into your neck, making the little hairs there to stand on end. It was an unfamiliar chill, not caused by the low temperature but from bad premonition. Something was wrong tonight.

You could feel it in the air, in the ground beneath your feet. Even the sound of the crickets were chirping felt treacherous. And yet, you had to eat. Find prey and take their blood to satisfy your own hunger. As you had done many times before. There wouldn't be anything different tonight. Or so you tried to convince yourself. But deep down you had the forebiding that this time would be entirely otherwise.

At first everything seemed to be as usual. In the dark of the night, you sneaked into the city and sniffed around the area, trying to detect the perfect meal. However, then you started to become suspicious of the situation: It was comfortably easy to find the right person. As if served on a silver platter, they hadn't closed their door properly, the lights were on almost as screaming for attention.

And you were already tempted to turn around and find someone else to eat. Though, the night already faded, giving away to dusk. You didn't have time to find another kill. But you did have hunger. So you ignored the nagging feeling of unsettelment and entered the house silently, not even your footsteps could be heard. Soon you found a young man, curled up in his bed, his neck advantageously on display for you.

Not being able to restrain your hunger anymore, you lunged forward, baring your fangs by opening your mouth widely. Suddenly, just as you were about to plunge them into your meal, a gust of wind rushed past you, barely missing your head. Your body froze. Looking to your right, your eyes fixated on the arrow that stuck out of the wall. It had almost pierced through your head.

Then you heard the creaking of the wooden floor and your head whipped into the opposite direction to be met with the glaring blue ones of a person. A person with an arbalest in his hands and a cross dangling from his neck. A Vampirehunter, you were certain.

Your feet working faster than your mind could comprehent, you rushed towards the door, ducking your head as a silver dagger flew into your direction. This hunter had good am, you must admit. Unfortunatly, or fortunatly, not good enough. You were way faster than he could shoot and you took full advantage of that.

Out on the streets again, you made the quick decision to leave the town as fast as possible. You could hunt on another night, maybe that time choosing a place more offside the center of Yokohama. But it would be far too dangerous to stay now, with a hunter at your tail. Therefore you rushed through the streets, not caring if anybody saw you. It's not like they could keep up with your pace anyway.

Soon you reached an alleyway. Resting there for a moment, you tried to overview the situation. Pricking up your ears, you listened for footsteps that had followed you or the yellings of a human. Though there was nothing but utter silence, beside the wind blowing through the empty streets. For a moment, you were in the illusion of safety, thinking that the hunter had lost you.

Just then another arrow was shot at you, scratching the surface of your pale skin as it flew past you. You stared at the cut on your nose as a hot black liquid started to trickle down the bridge and onto your lips. Without being able to form another thought, you started to flee again. This time you wouldn't stop until you were back in the forest. Or so your plan.

Shortly after you has started to rush again, you could make out the sound of steps following you. Your sensitive ears could detect the speed with which the person was chasing you and your horrified to find out that the person could keep up with you. Judging from the sound of their footsteps it was a rather small person, probably not as tall as you. Their height didn't matter to you though. As long as they had a weapon made out of silver, which they clearly had, they were a danger to your life a d therefore you had to flee.
