Letting out an annoyed huff, you leaned your back against the wooden wall behind you. The light of the sun shone into the barn and through the small slits in the walls. You sat in the deepest corner of the old building, hiding in the shadows. Your hood was pulled deep into your face, giving you a limited view of your surroundings. The ground beneath you was dusty and overall, very uncomfortable to sit on. Especially when you already sat there for about half of the day.

Huffing again, you shifted in your place, your hands still bound behind your back, trying to get more comfortable. Your sliding around on the floor caught the attention of the person sitting beside you in a pile of straw. Chuuya turned his head to face you, his expression irritated as well.

"Can you stop that, leech? It's annoying. Besides, you are disturbing my sleep. So could you sit still for fuck's sake?"

You rolled your eyes at the ginger's words and snapped back: "Shut up, runt. It's your fault I'm in this position in the first place. Stop complaining."

His glare became cold and menacing and he rose slightly, trying to make himself look bigger than he actually was.

"What did you just call me?"

You leaned forward, not feeling intimidated by his death stare at all.

"A runt", you repeated casually as if you weren't trying to insult him.

He leaned even closer than you thought was possible without falling over and reached out with one gloved hand to grab you by your hair. With a tug, he pulled your face close enough that you could sense his breath on your skin, making your nose scrunch.

"You're lucky you serve an important purpose, leech. Otherwise, you would have been killed by me the first time I laid my eyes on your pathetic frame."

You flinched slightly as a little bit of his spit landed on your face and glared at him to which he only responded with one himself. Pushing your head slightly backwards, he released your hair from his grip, causing the back of your head to hit wall behind you.

You were just about to shout at him, insult him again before you noticed how he had laid back into the straw, pulled his black fedora hat over his face and closed his eyes, completely ignoring you. Even though you let out another huff, you kept your mouth shut and just turned your head around into the opposite direction so you wouldn't have to look at him again.

Your friends back at Bram's castle would burst out into laughter if they ever saw you like that. Tied up, your attire dishevelled from the previous hunt and your hair messed up and ruffled. Bram himself would probably be amused too. You rolled your eyes internally at the thought.

Suddenly you heard a groan to your left. Without turning towards the source of the noise, you knew that it was the redhead.

"That mackerel sure is taking his time with getting food", he grumbled, shoving his hat out of his face and back onto his head. Oh yeah. Dazai had left the barn to get him and his partner some food for the journey. He had even asked you what you would like to eat to which you only responded with an annoyed scoff.

"I swear he is probably trying to kill himself again. This suicidal freak."

Even though he held his voice down, you could still hear him perfectly due to your sharpened senses. You cocked an eyebrow at his words. Dazai was apparently suicidal.

Another thing about humans you didn't quite understand. Why would he try to kill himself when he had everything he needs in life. It couldn't be about money. Even the hunters of the lowest rank still were paid generously.

But then again, humans had a much more fragile mind than you vampires.

Meanwhile Chuuya continued to complain about his partner, not even caring anymore that he talked loud enough for you to hear. Perhaps he even wanted you to hear him.
