Zayn plopped Liam on the island in the middle of the kitchen, watching him sit on his hind legs and look around with bright eyes.
"Where's mum and dad?" Zayn asked his
granddad who pointed to the garden.Eirene and Ares were sitting down at the picnic table with Vincent, deep in a discussion.
"They are talking now that Ares has calmed down." Carlos reached out and ruffled Liam's ears. "Are you eating breakfast like that?"
Liam shook his head, and his ears flopped.
"Can you put me on the floor please?" he asked Zayn.
His mate picked him up, placed him on the cold tiles, and watched how he changed into his human, or Godly form. Zayn couldn't decide how he should address him.
Liam grew very self-conscious, but Zayn carried down a t-shirt for him with a grin.
"I dare you to bring a storm and make it rain."
"No," Liam scoffed and eyed the toast.
"Why? It'll be funny." Zayn looked out of the window to see Vincent watching him with a raised eyebrow. "...or not. How did he hear that?"
"That man is incredibly wise, even without those powers," Carlos said, buttering some toast and smothering it in butter, just how Liam liked it. "I may not have a gift like Athena, but it doesn't take a gift to see his intelligence."
"True," Zayn said, wrapping his arms around Liam and resting his chin on his shoulder. His comfort was everything a teenage wolf in heat needed.
Liam loosened Zayn's arms when he squeezed too tightly.
"You're struggling, aren't you?" he thought.
"No."
Liam turned his head. He could feel Zayn's desperation to let loose with his affection.
"After breakfast-we-we can kiss for a while?" he thought with fidgeting hands.
Zayn stood up straight, his heart fluttering from Liam's timid nature.
"I would like that."
The boys sat with goofy smiles as Liam inhaled his breakfast, occasionally slapping Zayn's hand away until Carlos gave him some of his own.
"What are we doing today?" Liam asked, often glancing at his father through the glass.
"Finalising my pack. Did you talk to Piper yesterday?"
"Yeah. She's nice."
"I'm glad you like her. I know she'll make a good Delta wolf, maybe even a great one."
Liam admired how Zayn can look past the negativity, and move on with stronger determination. He wished he could go through life like that and maybe one day, he will.
"You've finished your breakfast I see," Zayn said with a winsome twinkle in his eyes. He took Liam's hand, softly squeezing his fingers and led him through the house and up the stairs. When they entered the bedroom, Zayn turned and shut the door, pushing his mate's back against the wood.
Liam stayed still while Zayn reached up and placed his hands on the sides of his face, moving his head close enough to feel his breath.
"Can I kiss you?" Zayn asked. Asking permission to kiss wasn't needed anymore, but permission to kiss with passion was. He wanted to ease Liam into the lifestyle of having a boyfriend.
The God nodded, and Zayn closed the gap between their lips, delicately moving his thumbs against his cheeks.
Liam slowly placed his hands on Zayn's hips, and their bodies rested together. Zayn wrapped his arms around Liam's shoulders and kissed him deeper, tasting him, feeding his affection, loving him a little more.
