When Tao woke up, he was in his room at Flower Fruit Mountain. He looked out the window to see a night sky full of stars scattered across the sky, a full moon, and monkeys scattered across many trees sleeping sounding. Tao opened his bedroom door to see Wukong watching television with more sleeping monkeys surrounding him.

"Hey," Wukong smiled at his son, "what are you doing awake?"

"I think I had a weird dream." Tao wasn't sure if what he experienced was a dream or reality.

"Why don't you come sit with me," Wukong patted the stop next to him, "it'll distract you for a little bit."

Tao sat beside his dad as they watched the show in comfortable silence. After a few minutes, Tao's eyes started to get heavy, he rested his head on Wukong's shoulder, and in return, Wukong wrapped his arm around him.

"Dad," Tao muttered before yawning.

"Yeah, Buddy?" Wukong turned to him.

"I'm glad it's just you and me." Tao's voice got lower with each word before falling back asleep.

"Me too." Wukong hugged his sleeping son.

Everyone got together the next day to spend the day at the beach. Sandy helped Wukong and Macaque set up the beach chairs, and umbrellas, while Pigsy set up the grill for lunch, MK Mei and Tao played with water guns with The Demon Bull Family, and Chenguang watched from one of the picnic tables. Daiyu was making a sandcastle as Chyou sat close by on a beach chair, reading a book.

"Honey," Chyou looked up from her book.

"Yes, Gem?" Macaque turned to look at her.

"I'm going for a swim," Daiyu put down her book. "If you need anything from me, that's where I'll be."

Macaque watched his wife walk away; his smile turned into a frown.  Chyou's swimsuit had an open back, exposing the three diagonal scars on her back from when she had that accident with her father.

"You'll never have to worry about him again." Wukong's words snapped Macaque out of his daze.

"Or his daughter," Macaque added, "they'll be locked up until the end of time, and I hope the both of them rot."

"In-law of the year much," Wukong joking retorted. "But on a more serious note, how is she?"

"Daiyu?" Macaque raised an eyebrow. "She's good. I don't want to go into the details right now, but Chyou and I made sure, she has no memory of this."

"Tao thinks it was all a dream," Wukong sat down on his beach chair. "The last thing I want to do is lie to him or trick him."

"We're doing what we can to keep them safe." Macaque sat down.

The two sat silently and watched their kids play.

"Hey Daiyu," Daiyu looked up from her sandcastle to see MK, Mei, and Tao standing beside her with Mei holding a volleyball. "Do you wanna play? MK and me against you and Mei."

"Maybe later." Daiyu went back to her sandcastle.

"Why?" Tao began teasing her like he always does. "Are you scared to lose?"

With a quick yelp and a loud splash, everyone turned to see that Daiyu had thrown Tao into the water. Demon Bull King erupted with laughter.

"A bit of a spitfire she is!" Demon Bull King continued to laugh. "I can see her becoming a great fighter in the future!"

Tao poked his head out of the water, giving Daiyu an annoyed look as she returned the look with a mischievous smile, but Tao quickly matched her smile, when he grabbed her hands and pulled her into the water as well, resulting in a splash. It was Tao's turn to laugh as Daiyu picked herself up from being dunked into the water. When Daiyu turned to her best friend, who now had a cheeky smile on his face, she playfully pushed him making them both laugh.

It was sunset, when everyone began packing up for the day, they began loading up the T.E.A. when Tang began to look around.

"Where did the kids go?" Tang turned to their parents.

"I'll go look for them." Macaque volunteered, before dropping down into a shadow portal.

Macaque walked along the beach, looking for the two kids when he turned from behind a rock and saw them building a sandcastle, smiling and laughing like kids do as Mo sat next to them.

"All we need is something to decorate the castle with a shell, then it'll be complete." Tao proclaimed.

"I'll find one." Daiyu walked away with Mo following behind her.

Macaque began to approach from behind but stopped when he noticed the expression on Tao's face. His eyes practically shining as his smile got bigger. The look of Tao's face told Macaque, that Tao had developed a schoolboy crush on Daiyu. Which Macaque couldn't help but find the situation slightly amusing.

Daiyu had return with Mo, who was now carrying a shiny peachy-pink shell in his mouth proudly. Tao had gently taken the shell out of Mo's mouth and pressed it into the center of the castle. As the two kids proudly smiled at the sandcastle they made, Daiyu noticed Macaque approaching.

"Daddy!" Daiyu beamed.

"Hey Moonstone," Macaque chuckled. "it's time to head home."

The two kids got up with Mo following them back to the T.E.A. Macaque walked behind them as the two little monkeys laughed and joked with each the entire walk back.

When Tao had been taken, so had Daiyu's smile. It broke her heart for Daiyu to lose her best friend for that period of time. Macaque having to erase what happened from Daiyu's memory was to protect her, he knew that he wouldn't be able to protect from everything, but if he could protect her just enough to keep the smile he and his wife had missed seeing, that would be enough for him.

The drive back to the city was peaceful as the sun had partly disappeared over the horizon. Tao and Daiyu had fallen asleep in their seats. Wukong couldn't help but smile, he was happy his son was home and safe, he would do whatever it takes to make sure no one would use his son against him. For him and their family, everything was back to normal
