"I lost Jake," Cooper said to Moon and Nate as he got upstairs.

Moon's hand went straight into her pocket, hearing the footsteps coming up the stairs. "No, you didn't."

Jake Riordan stood at the top of the stairs, looking out of breath. "Jake, what's going on?" Cooper kept up the act, which flew out the window when Jake reached into his pocket and pulled out a revolver.

"Jake, what are you--"

"Shut up, shut up, Coop." Jake shook his head. "Shut the fuck up." He pointed the gun at them. "You don't think I will?"

"Jake-- "

"Get the fuck out of my way." He gestured for them to move aside with the gun.

The three of them didn't budge at first, Moon wasn't even going to until Nate grabbed her arm and pulled her along with him. "If I pull this trigger right now, who do you think the cops are going to believe, huh?" Janae joined them upstairs, Moon's hand was pulling out her switch blade. "Me or Murder Club?"

They let him go inside, before they fucking booked it to Cooper's Jeep.

Bronwyn had hurt her ankle jumping off of Jake's balcony, and they were currently running into the woods at top speed. Addy was in there, with the Xbox, with the proof. Along with Jake, with a loaded gun.

They found them in a small clearing. Cooper had the genius plan of sneaking up on him with a baseball bat, but the dumbass stepped on a branch, giving himself away. "Hey," Jake spun around, pointing the gun at Cooper. "Just drop it. Drop it." His voice sounded like he was about to cry. "Drop it!"

Cooper dropped the bat. Moon was behind the tree Cooper had snuck out from.

"Hey, friend." Cooper put his hands up, also sounding tearful. "Always looking out for me? Just tryna break us apart, man. So we wouldn't find out what you had done to us. To me. Your friend."

"It's nothing against you, man. I just wanted to get rid of the fucking genius who really believed he could play me." Jake said, voice sounding remorseful but Moon didn't have to look to tell how much of a sociopath he was. "And frame my lying, cheating girlfriend. It's a shame that no one thought she was smart enough to come up with a plan half as good as mine."

"So I had to go with Plan B: frame the most obvious suspect." He stepped towards the pair. "But you just couldn't let it go, could you, huh?"

"Jake."

"Well, now, you will."

Moon took a step out from behind the tree.

"Give me the Xbox, babe... Now!"

Addy flinched. Moon glared at Janae, who crouched down to pick up the baseball bat. The Lee girl's thumb flicked open her switch blade.

"Okay." Addy managed to get out, reaching for the backpack that had the Xbox in it. "We'll do whatever you want us to do."

"That's my girl."

Janae and Moon took a step forward. Addy dropped the bag just in front of Jake, rifling through it's contents. Addy made the mistake of looking right at them, and Jake glanced up and around.
