"Check the bathroom if you see him," Addy finished instructing Moon, Bronwyn, Nate and new addition Isaac, who wouldn't go away when Moon told him to so now he was involved. "Isaac, come with me to check for his Jeep."

"Yes, ma'am," Isaac awkwardly saluted, following the blonde out the doors.

Moon and Bronwyn turned to follow Nate out of the auditorium, coming smack into Maeve, "So you ditched me for Murder Club? Where was my invite?" She glanced at Moon. "Since when was your brother apart of it?"

"Five seconds ago," Moon admitted, scratching the back of her neck, glancing around for Fiona but she had mysteriously vanished.

"Keep your voice down. You're not in Murder-- " Bronwyn hesitated. "Mutual Exoneration Club."

"Yeah, that's not rolling off anyone's tongue," Maeve fired back. "Just tell me what's going on. You can't shut me out forever."

"Watch me try," Bronwyn said before walking away. Moon went to follow her.

"Moon."

Maeve had never seen or heard of Moon Lee hesitating, and she sure didn't think that the girl would hesitate just by her calling her name. Moon stopped in the doorway, turning around.

"Come on."

"I can't... I'm sorry," Moon said after a few beats of silence. Maeve walked after her, reaching for her wrist. Moon shrugged her off, but Maeve persisted, following Moon into the hallway. "Maeve, please!"

Moon turned around just as Maeve grabbed at her suit jacket and she stumbled, falling against the lockers. "Jesus fucking Christ, you never give up, do you, little Rojas?" Moon looked down at Maeve, straightening against the locker she was leaning on for balance.

Maeve gripped her suit jacket lapels, keeping Moon against the locker. "I can just push you off, you know that right?" Moon raised her eyebrows at her.

"I know that you won't," Maeve said simply in response, loosening her grip. Moon cursed herself internally.

Fuck, she was so right.

"So, how's Fiona?"

Moon rolled her eyes, "She's nice." She nodded. "Brings me a lot of internal peace."

Maeve's brow furrowed, "You hate peace." Moon raised her eyebrows with a small smile. "You prefer a certain level of chaos in your life, but even if it gets too much, you love it anyway." Moon straightened further, her back sticking up like a pin upon feeling Maeve's hand in hers.

Moon shut her eyes, opening them to look up at the ceiling, trying not to give away just how breathless she was. "Moon, look at me." Against every instinct telling her not to, telling her to push her off and walk away, she looked down. "You weren't lying."

Moon chuckled a little, "That's a first."

"What do you mean?" Maeve messed with Moon's hand, heart bursting when Moon pulled her against her with her free hand, interlocking their hands together.

"You don't exactly trust me," Moon said with a small smile, making Maeve sigh. "Or anyone, for that matter." She chuckled. "Maeve, you know why Bronwyn doesn't want you involved in everything."

"I could do so much to help you idiots," Maeve scoffed. "I mean, why's your brother suddenly apart of it now?"

"Because Addy roped him in and you know my stance on blonde's," Moon said with a serious face, making Maeve laugh, her head falling to rest on Moon's collarbones. The older girl's breath hitched, and she looked up at the ceiling again. "I'll just say it now, that I'm sorry that you weren't able to trust me. And for Simon ghosting you."
