The last thing Moon expected to see when she woke up the next day to grab herself a bowl of cereal was Nate Macauley sitting on her living room couch. It was only when Isaac sprinted past her from the hallway and tackled Nate on the couch that she realized she wasn't hallucinating.

Moon glanced into the kitchen, watching her dad and Elise watch the scene with smiles on their faces, "How did you get out?" She managed, rubbing her eyes as she grabbed a water bottle and sat on the armchair. Nate just gave her a pointed look until the cogs in her brain kicked into gear. "Rojas?"

"Rojas," Nate nodded, and Moon watched the tips of his ears go a little red as he stifled an impressed smile. Moon chuckled at the sight. "Ms Choi brought me here."

"I figured you three could go to school together. Got a feeling some people are gonna want answers as to why he's out," Elise said.

"Sure, I don't have a problem," Isaac shrugged and winced as Nate ruffled his hair aggressively.

"I need food in me," Moon stood up to sustain herself.

If there was one thing about Elise that Moon knew, the woman was (so far) never wrong. People were staring at them as soon as they walked into school. They walked past a hallway after walking Isaac to his Math class, where Moon saw Addy and Jake holding hands, and as soon as the Riordan caught sight of Nate, she could see the anger in his face.

"Bitch, move, don't cat walk," Moon swatted his shoulder, getting him to move faster. Nate picked up the pace as they walked into the next hall, coming face to face with the person who bailed him out of jail.

"Fucking Rojas," Nate muttered.

"Okay, I guess you want me to apologize for getting you out of jail, only I won't because-- " Bronwyn began, but Nate's phone began to buzz, so the boy put up a finger to cut her off. He picked it up. "Hey. Yeah, I'm at school." He huffed. "Can't you hear the hormones?" He then handed it to Moon, who briefly spoke into it before Nate ended the call.

"That's his parole officer," Moon gestured.

"She calls twice a day to make sure I'm either at home, at Moon's house because her step-mom is my lawyer-- "

"Whoa, step-mom?" Moon glanced at him.

"--Her dad's girlfriend who is my lawyer, or here, at school, so basically I'm still in jail," Nate adjusted his backpack strap.

"Seriously?"

"Well, no," Nate began to walk, and this time Moon did not follow. She figured he could handle himself.

As she took some books out of her locker and shut it, Moon jumped upon seeing Maeve beside her locker, taking a step back as she regained herself, "Maeve, warn a person, please."

"Are you dressing up for Halloween?"

"What?" Moon stammered, starting to walk to class.

"Halloween. Spooky season." Maeve eyed her curiously, noticing her sudden change in behavior. "I thought you were the type to be morbidly obsessed with horror movies and the genre in general."

Moon made a face and shrugged, continuing to walk away. Maeve jogged to keep up with her, pulling her into the music room and blocking the door so the older wouldn't dodge her. "Maeve, I'll be late for--"
