Right after I spat sprite all over Ahkirro, he made a disgusted face and stared at his clothes and Gab repeatedly.
“Pft! Imagine spitting sprite at Ahkirro’s shirt!” Grena said.
Ahkirro’s vein was showing on his forehead. He looked like he was about to curse someone, and that someone was Gab.
“I was shocked Grena! I didn’t expect that we would come to school again! Plus, I’m going to buy quail eggs cause I’m craving for it!” I said to her.
“You know what let’s hurry up.” Ahkirro stepped in on our question.
As we were hurrying to get back to our school, we ran to the mall, going to the exit. Everyone was curious why.
Thankfully, a jeepney was waiting for some passengers. We quickly ran and sat in the jeepney while waiting.
“Why did they tell us to go back to school? They could’ve said that we will be back tomorrow you know?” I complained.
We got out of the jeep and ran to get to school on time before the school program started.
“30 minutes isn’t enough to walk to go to school, we should run!” I told them.
We were running because there wasn’t any transportation available in the town the school is in.
“Well, that was long.” Ahkirro said.
We were sweaty, tired, and right after, a familiar vehicle came again. It was the van that splashed me before!
“That’s the van who splashed me before!” I shouted and told my friends about it.
“That van?” Grena asked.
I can’t believe I saw that van again. That van literally splashed me because of nothing! I want to know who owns that van and, because of the owner of that van, that I got my uniform dirty on my first day of school! I’m going to sue that owner so bad that I’m going to throw a tantrum like a child and outburst my anger to them!
I was still curious about who it was until I saw a familiar face.
“Isn’t that Adria?” Ahkirro’s response.
They say Adria is a popular girl slash rich girl slash mean girl and I’ve heard rumors about her having a fight with our TLE teacher, Mrs. Dela Cruz. Adria is mean girl coded. I haven’t talked with her yet, but she makes fun of every disadvantage of every student she knows. Thank God I’m a stranger to her or I’ll get reviled.
I heard that Mrs. Dela Cruz is one of the strictest teachers in our school. She chides everyone who made a mistake on an activity given by her!
So, it’s reasonable why Adria fought with Mrs. Dela Cruz. Adria is fighting for her rights, while Mrs. Dela Cruz is fighting for what is right.
And that’s why she splashed me so bad.
“I’ve heard rumors about that girl. I’ll stay silent” I said.
“Omg, you’re scared of her? Help!” Grena responded and laughed.
“It’s not about that. I don’t want to have an issue with that girl, and I don’t want to get recorded that I have fought with that girl!”
“You’re clearly scared, Gael.” Ahkirro said.
“Fine then.” I responded.
I have a bad feeling about that girl to be honest. I’m going to try to avoid her, especially after what she did to me, and the sound of her reputation doesn’t seem to be too appealing.
Some upper grade students told us to quickly go to the principal’s office before the headmistress leaves.
I was overthinking if we did something bad or wrong. Same with Ahkirro and Grena. Plus, how does she know us? Is she my relative or what?
As we went to the office, the headmistress greeted us saying, “Welcome to our school, Gael, Ahkirro and Grena.”

We were curious about how she knew our names because we haven’t talked to her yet.
“I have been looking for you since school started.” She spoke.“Do you need something?” Ahkirro responded to the headmistress with curiousness.
“I need you three to be part of the student council and also be one of the detectives who will help the school.”
Me and Grena were happy and excited.
“Wait are you for real?” Ahkirro asked the headmistress.
You see, Ahkirro doesn’t want to be one of the detectives and an officer. He wants to be a normal student like others.
“I demand you three to be one of the officers and I will make sure of that! There will be no turning back.” Headmistress responded.
“Wait, you can’t force our friend to do something he doesn’t want! Let him be please.” I spoke.
“No!” The Headmistress stomped.
We were frustrated and just agreed that we would be detectives and student council officers.
“You may leave my office.” She said with a rather irritated tone.
“But before that...” We ceased walking and stared at the headmistress.
“Your first case may pop up anywhere. Keep your eyes peeled.”
The headmistress had a mischievous but calm tone to her voice, I should warn the others about her. She might be a threat to us...
When the doors to the office closed, we were quiet that you can hear a pin drop.
I complained to them, “Why is she forcing Aki to be a detective? That’s not right!”
“They will force you on what they want, even if its against your will.” Aki responded to us.
“Let’s just accept the offer. We’ll help you. Don’t worry Ahkirro.” Grena tried to comfort Ahkirro.
Like Ahkirro said to us, sometimes they will force you on what they want but ignore you on what you want.
That’s how society works nowadays. They force you to do what they only want.
“I’m going to try my best despite not wanting to be a detective.” Ahkirro said to us.
It shows that we are going to be detectives which I and Grena wished to be. Still, every challenge we will receive may get harder and harder. I feel like the ex-headmistress is warning us on what is about to happen.
And yet, as a new student council officer, we will try our best to stay in our school in peace without any issue that may occur anytime or anywhere. I hope we don’t split up in such situations.
