Chapter 8 - Final Day

"GOOOOOOOOD Morning everyone!" Grena greeted us which made our phone ring.

"Good morning." Ahkirro replied.

"Good." I said while joking with them.

"Are you guys ready for our grad practice?" Allliyah asked us.

"Yea! Let's head to school now." Ahkirro replied.

7:12 p.m.

While I was commuting, I met this guy named Zien. He's my classmate and Grena knows him very well. She said that he is one of the officers in our class. I talked to him asking, "Hey, you're my classmate, right? You probably know Ahkirro and Grena."

"Yea, I know them. They are my friends too. We're not close to each other's though." He responded.

"I see." I spoke.

After having a conversation with him, we arrived at our school. Ahkirro, Alliyah and Grena were waiting for me.

"Oh? Were you all waiting for me?" I asked.

"Yeah." Ahkirro responded.

"By the way, we've got you something since you've been working as our leader of being detective." Grena said.

"We appreciate your hard work and being kind and funny to us." Ahkirro joined Grena.

"You both are plasticizing me." I responded to both and laughed.

"No, they are not!" She responded to me while laughing.

They gave me their small gift for me. I wasn't expecting anything big. Still, I opened the gift which was a phone inside!

"Hold on, are you for real?" I asked and pinched myself twice.

"Are you crazy or what? Of course we are!" They laughed.

"Thank you! I was saving up to get this. Uhm, can I pay it?" My tears rolled down out of happiness and asking if they needed something to pay for it.

"No need Gael, we've seen your phone has a big crack as it is slow. We saved up to help you and it's a reward for being a great leader." Ahkirro said.

"Thank you!" I spoke while my tears fell and hugged them three.

I thanked them non-stop! I've been dreaming of getting a phone! I'm so lucky I have these types of friends. They are the best!

As the practice started, Grena asked, "I've seen you and Zien walk together when you both arrived and talked with each other. Is he your friend?"

"Yeah. We were talking about you and Ahkirro." I responded.

"I see." She spoke.

During our practice, it was tough. It made us sweat! They even added a dance for our graduation. And I still think about my parents! I don't know if they will come. I hope they do!

"I hope my parents come and visit me sometime." I said to Ahkirro.

"I hope too! I know it's been a hard time since your parents left you at a young age.

"I want to see their faces and voices!" I spoke with a sad tone while practicing.

"Trust me! There's a possibility that they will come soon, you know! Just trust me Gael."

While we we're talking about my parents, our teacher said, "Boys at the back!" She shouted and looked mad at us.

We went silent so we wouldn't get scolded by her.

And after practice, and after 8 hours of suffering, we're done! Thank God! We're so tired...

While we were at the outside of the building, we decided to wait until 20 minutes because Ahkirro's parents will take us to the mall!

As we wait, me and Grena had some alone time to talk. She said, "You got scolded by the teacher, didn't you?" questioning me like a mother.

I responded and said, "Yea. Can we change the topic?" wanting to change the topic as I don't like to talk about getting scolded.

She later then asked, "Hey, do you like me?" Asking if I like her.

"Used to." I responded. It was too unusual that she asked this type of question.

"Used too? I like you Gael!" Grena confessed and told me that she likes me.

Ahkirro wasn't lying. She really likes me. I thought it was a joke but, it was serious.

"You see, I used to like you. You were caring, helpful and kind. That's why I got interest on you." I spoke.

"Do you still like me?" Grena asked, hoping that I still like her.

"Well, I'm not prioritizing being in a relationship with someone right now. I'm prioritizing my studies. My goal is to be an acad achiever. Sorry." I spoke.

"Okay, I understand." Grena responded.

While we are talking, two parents asked me, "Hello, do you know where Gabriel is?"

"I am Gabriel, may I help you?" I responded then asked.

"Please read the letter." The woman told me.

As they handed the letter to me, I looked at their faces familiarizing who they are. They look rich.

Ahkirro saw me talking with two grown adults, so he decided to come at us.

As I opened the letter, it said, "Dear Gabriel, we know we've left you at a very young age. We don't know what to do. We have debts that we can't pay enough, can't buy you the toys you wanted, and especially we didn't give you attention since you were a kid. I gave you to your godmother to take care of you while we went abroad to get a better life there. I know it's wrong, but we need to get rid of such situations which made us struggle. We want you to know that we love you unconditionally."

As my tears roll down, I asked them, "Are you, my parents?"

The woman replied, "Yes, sweetheart." The man handed me our picture at Tagaytay.

I immediately hugged them and cried. I said, "I miss you! I've been wondering where you two went!"

They hugged me and said, "Don't worry Gabriel. We're here and we also miss you." My mother's tears fell knowing that I've been looking for them for a long time.

"We're going to be a family again, son." My father said.

"We're going to take you abroad. Is that okay with you?" My mother asked.

I looked at my friends then looked at my parents. I said, "I'll stay here in the Philippines, mom. I also have a job which is to be a detective."

"That's alright! We can go abroad anytime!" My mother said.

"We'll go to the mall. Can I go with them??" I asked my parents.

"Sure." She wiped my tears and Her's, and said, "I love you."

"I love you too, mom." I responded.

After me and my parents reunited, I looked at Grena and said, "Let's wait for the right time." Giving her hope.
