˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ [𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙚, 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙫𝙚 !]Against all odds, the day they decided was the perfect chance to spell Ben with their love-potioned dessert, landed on the most awaited tourney game of the season. The villain kids' blood, sweat, and tears were put into baking these cookies the night prior, their cover almost being blown when Lonnie entered the kitchen and dipped her finger into the batter. Thankfully, her single tear of sadness tied the spell together. Now all that's left was to execute their scheme.
The villain kids approached Cordelia's locker to see the girl admiring the cookies inside the bag they stored them in, "What a beaut... Do you guys think it's going to work?" She sucked in her breath and looked into their eyes, feeling the nerves building up within her body. Cordelia genuinely had a confident personality, though something about this plan made her a coward. "I'm sure. So far, my mother's spell book still hasn't failed me."
"Are you kind of feeling weird about this?" Jay confessed with a murmur, causing the girl to snap her head towards him from her locker. Cordelia furrowed her eyebrows at his words, skeptical about his insinuation. "I mean, it's not so bad here, you know?"
"Are you insane? Long live evil! You're mean. You're awful. You're bad news," she clicks her fingers before his face, "snap out of it!" Once he was brought back to the reality of being his evil self, he thanked her for putting some sense into his head. "As you said, we need to stick together... And that's not happening if you're starting to become brainwashed by these prissy royals." Giving each other a fistbump, she pushes him towards the balcony to let him talk to the girls that gathered around Mal, praising her for changing their hair. She was glad that at least one person was taking her advice about creating alliances and connections.
Peeking her head over the door, she watched Audrey bid Ben 'see you later' with a kiss on his cheek, leaving him all by himself. That was a rookie mistake on her end. Thankfully, she was lucky enough to score a locker near his as it definitely gave her an advantage in spelling him with the cookie.
"Hey, Benjamin," her voice was laced with charm, sauntering towards him with a smirk on her face, "I just made a batch of white chocolate chip and strawberry cookies, do you want one?" He looks down at her with a frown, "I've got a big game. I don't eat before a big game... But thank you so, so much. Thank you. Next time."
"No, yeah. I completely understand," Knowing that she was left with no other options to get him to eat the sweet treat, she resulted in guilt-tripping the prince, "'Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains.' I'm sure that every kid in Auradon knows that."
"No, that's not it. I really do..." He tried to reassure the girl, panicking that he might've offended her, or her friends. "No, I get it. You're cautious. That's smart. Oh well, more for me, I guess."
Baiting him by making it appear as if she was about to bite into the treat, he quickly snatches it from her hands and takes a mouthful of the cookie. "See that? Totally trust you, totally."
Once her friends realize she's successfully gone forth with the plan, they all approach the two with satisfied looks. "How are they?" She pursed her lips together, surprised he actually fell for it. "They're good. They're great! They're amazing! They're, I mean they're chewy and, you know? Is that walnuts? I love walnuts. The white chocolate, the white chocolate chips are..." He clears his throat, trying to find the right words to describe her cookie, "They're warm and soft. I'm sorry..."
"Cordelia, have you always had those little glints in your eyes?"
Seeing he was about to take another bite, she gently grabbed the cookie from his hand and sealed it back into the bag it originated from with a chuckle. "How are you feeling bro?" Jay asks, patting his hands on Ben's shoulder.
"I feel... I feel like... Like singing your name!" The boy exclaims the last part, earning the attention of those around them. "Cordelia!" She clasps a hand over his mouth, muffling his words with shock.
"Come on, Ben. We've got a game to win,' he was dragged away by the boys, but the echo of his voice persisted until he was out of sight. "Oh, what have we gotten ourselves into..." She sighed, walking off with Mal and Evie trailing behind.
Upon arriving at the tourney field, the girl was overwhelmed by the chaotic cheers from either side. Both teams needed this win to make it to the playoffs, causing everybody to get riled up. Finding an open spot next to Alec, he attempted to explain the rules to them before being interrupted by the sound of the whistle that cued the match to start.
While watching the game, she would often spot Ben looking up at her in the stands with a smile, earning knowing nudges from both her friends. Cordelia couldn't help the blush that rose to her cheeks whenever he did. Oh, how she cursed her Pavlovian response of feeling giddy to moments like these.
Once the winning goal was scored, Auradon Prep's school section started to jump up and down with joyful triumph. Feeling herself get pulled into a hug with Evie and Mal, she laughed as they all celebrated Carlos and Jay's achievement. However, it quickly came to an end when she noticed Ben grabbing the microphone out of the announcer's grip.
"Excuse me, can I have your attention please?" The loud cheers formed in the stands died down as everyone gave the prince their full attention. "There's something I'd like to say..." Cordelia waited in anticipation, already not liking where this route was going.
"Give me a 'C!' Give me an 'O!' Give me an 'R!' Give me a 'D!' Give me an 'E!' Give me an 'L!' Give me an 'I!' Give me an 'A!'" That was when she realized he made them all repeat the letters in her name. At least she knows that Mal's little book works. "What does that spell?" The boy cried out his question, earning a response of her name, which made everyone swoon from how sweet his gesture was.
"I love you, Cordelia! Did I mention that?"
Ben began to profess his love for her in a sappy song, making her wonder what was in the cookie she gave him that made him act so ridiculous. From influencing the whole tourney team to dance with him, to him being launched up into the air, to crowd-surfing across the student section... Yeah, that love spell made him into an entirely different person.
Leaning in for a kiss by the end of his musical number, she dodged it by shielding her face with the jersey he had thrown during it. "I love you, Cordelia. Did I mention that?" He declared into the mic a second time, right before Audrey had the chance to steal and announce that Chad Charming was her new boyfriend. "Cordelia, will you go to the coronation with me?" Seeing as their plan was coming to fruition, she exclaimed, "Yes!" Her response caused everyone to cheer for the two, except for the girl who was just broken up with.
Looking over to Evie — who had an evident scowl on her face — she frowned. "You know, I feel very sorry for Audrey. If she were talented like you, and she knew how to sew and knew beauty tips, that she wouldn't need a prince to make her feel better about herself."
"I guess I am pretty talented." She grabbed ahold of her hand with a smile, "You are definitely talented." After sharing a hug, Cordelia patted Alec's shoulder 'goodbye' as the three of them left the stands.
