Overnight Stay and Police

Luke's POV
Calum and I had came to the conclusion that it would it be best for Michael and Ashton to examine her as well. The pain in her lower abdomen was concerning given the nature of the situation. We were sure that she had no broken ribs but we wanted to be completely sure. I paged Michael and Ashton and shortly after they arrived. You could tell that Luna was fed up just by looking at her. It broke my heart. She looked super tired and her eyes were bloodshot from all the crying. It was pretty late and I'm sure all she wanted to do was sleep. "Luna sweetie, I know you're probably really tired but my friends here need to do a small exam" I said. She looked at me with a pleading look. I took her hands in mine and said "Hey it's gonna be okay."

Michael's POV
After receiving a page from Luke I rushed to where he was. As I walked in I saw a teenage girl, she looked extremely tired and she had clearly been crying. I took a quick look at her chart as Calum and Luke gave a rundown of the situation. I then approached her and said "Hey Kiddo! I'm Dr. Clifford but you can call me Michael. I just need to check your ribs and then I'll let you be" she nodded. I started to feel her ribs but even the lightest touch made her cry. I decided it would be best to do a quick x-ray and used the portable x-ray machine. After I was done I said "Okay Kiddo! So you do have a small hairline fracture in one of your ribs but it should heal on its own".

Ashton's POV
I walked into the room seeing Luke, Calum and to my surprise Laura as well. Funny enough, I guess Michael was paged too since we both got to the room at the same time. Luke and Calum gave Michael and I a quick rundown and then Michael took a look at her ribs. It was then my turn, I introduced myself and said "Hi sweet girl, I'm Dr. Irwin but you can call me Ashton. I need to check your tummy and I know your in a great deal of pain but I'll be as gentle as possible." She nodded her head and said "okay". Luke approached the bed and said "Luna sweetie, I'm gonna give you a relaxer so it won't be as bad when Ashton checks your tummy, okay?" She shook her head and said "no" but before she could protest any further Luke quickly wiped her arm and did the injection while Calum and Michael were distracting her.

Once Luke was done he placed a bandaid over the spot. He looked at her and gave her a small smile she looked at him and said "you're sneaky" she then let out a small laugh which caught him off guard. Once the relaxer kicked in I checked her stomach, once I reached her lower abdomen she said "Ow, no more" I gave her a sympathetic look and said "almost done sweet girl, I know it hurts, sorry". A couple of minutes later I was done and she had tears rolling down her face. I looks at her and said "Alright sweet girl, the pain is most likely due to the bruises. There isn't anything concerning". After that Luke and Calum told her she would be staying the night for observation but that she could be discharged by tomorrow if everything checked out. It was now 1am and she had barely fallen asleep.

Luke's POV
After having a conversation with everyone about the situation we contacted the authorities due to child abuse. The police requested pictures of her bruises and wounds and also needed a statement. Calum and I took charge, it had been a couple of hours since she fell asleep and I really didn't want to wake her up but I knew the sooner it was done the better. I gently rubbed her hand and she woke up. I told her that the police needed get a statement from her and they also needed pictures of her injuries. She nodded and the police came in to talk to her she answered all their questions and then Calum took pictures of her injuries. Once we were done I smiled at her and said "you did such a good job sweetie! How about you get some more sleep". She gave me a small smile back and dozed off to sleep.
