ONE MONTH LATER

I couldn't believe what I was reading in this magazine, it was just... heartbreaking. I was sitting at the breakfast island sipping on a cup of hot jasmine tea when I noticed the headline of today's copy of 'The Sun'. In big bold letters it read:

'Tomlinson's Tragedy: One Direction's Louis and girlfriend Eleanor's Private Pregnancy'

I was still in shock. How could I have been so blind? How could they not have told us? I felt awful. The whole time they were going through this and none of us knew. While Eleanor and Louis had apparently been trying so hard for a baby, here Harry and I sat boasting about our own little pride and joy. I could never imagine losing a child, especially after trying so hard to get one.

It had been a month since the tragedy, and as far as I knew things were still going downhill. I had only seen Louis and Eleanor a couple of times since the miscarriage, but when I did see them they looked tired, broken, and years beyond their age. Louis and El hadn't left the house much, only going out when completely necessary. And if it weren't necessary, they'd have one of the boys run out for them. The paps were still camping out on their front lawn just waiting for a glimpse of the 'broken couple'. I swear I haven't seen one magazine in the past four weeks that didn't have Eleanor and Louis plastered all over the cover. I couldn't even imagine what they were going through right now, they must be beyond miserable. It broke my heart to see something so personal and heart wrenching plastered all over the front pages of the tabloids for everyone to see and speculate on.

Of course as soon as the story got out none of us believed it. There were grainy photos of a man about Louis's size with caramel colored hair carrying a woman with long, dark hair into the hospital. Since Harry had gone out to spend the day with Louis, I invited Danielle, Liam, Perrie, Zayn, and Niall over to hang out. We all just assumed that when the pictures started to pop up on Twitter and Tumblr that they were just a paps sick idea for making a few extra bucks.

Within hours of the pictures appearing, accusations and rumors started to circulate. Rumors like cancer, flu, and car accident started to appear and then finally: a baby. The idea that Louis and Eleanor were having a child started to circulate the World Wide Web in mere hours. Supposed "evidence" was posted on Tumblr, photos of Louis touching El's stomach, the miniscule definition of a supposed "baby bump", and pictures of Louis and Eleanor going into the clinic within the last three months. But really, those photos could have been from months, or even years ago! None of us were buying it for a second. There was no way Eleanor had been pregnant without any of us noticing! We'd been around each other constantly in the last few months since their tour starts up again in a few months, so we definitely would have noticed if she was... wouldn't we?

We all sat around keeping up with the rumors as they came rolling in all over the internet. After a few hours of doing this, the others had to leave, so I was left on my own watching as the storm started on Twitter. I had created a secret account years ago so that I could know what Harry was up to without him knowing it was me, but now that we were together and he knew about Catherine, I never thought to use it. I decided now would be a good time to log in, and I quickly realized just how crazy everyone was going over those rumors. The fans were tweeting the boys and everyone close to them like mad to get a confirmation or denial of the pap's pictures. Oh was management going to have fun with this...

I must had fallen asleep on the couch that night, because when I woke up Harry was wrapped around me, a blanket draped over us. I twisted my head to look back at him and saw that his eyes were red and puffy, tears staining his flushed cheeks.

That's when reality hit me.

The tabloids were true. How could they have not told us? We could have helped them... we could have done something.
