Hyunjin's pov

We were on our way back to the castle after a long day at the hospital, but you know what kept me thinking? What Theresa told me, the old woman and especially the dark thing

Before I left, I went back to her, and she said something to me in ancient language, which I knew, but I wasn't sure if the translation was right

It sounds like...

War

"Everything alright, your grace?" Katherine asked, and I looked at her, and I nodded

"I was just thinking" I said, and she smiled

"We are almost there" Katherine said

After an hour

I was currently in the library, searching for a specific book it was about Empiria's cultures, religions, and languages

But suddenly I heard a knock on the door and I saw Jaehaera standing

"Your grace" She said with a serious tone, and she looked at me

"Yes, Jaehaera?" I asked her

"The king has arrived" Jaehaera said, and my eyes widened. I immediately walked out of the room, and I eventually started to run, Jaehaera ran after me

Through the windows, I saw Chan's dragon, Nightshade landing down on the ground of the courtyard, so I ran to it, and I saw some other people standing

"Pardon," I said as I went through the crowd, and I brightly smiled. "Chan is finally back," I thought, and when I stopped, when I got in front of the crowd

Chan's mother, the dowager queen, stood beside me with his brother, Prince Lucas

I saw Chan standing on the ground  with his back facing to us, and he was holding something

"Where is Hannah?" I thought as I looked around and I didn't see her nor her dragon, Melaera

But then Chan turned around, and he was carrying a body wrapped in white cloth. Chan's face seemed tired and broken, and no emotion

Chan walked to us, and he stopped in front of us, and he looked at us

"Chan, honey?" His mother asked, and chan didn't say he just stared

"Chan, love, what happened?" I asked him, and he looked at me

"She is... gone, " He quietly said, and his hand went to the front of the body

"Who is-" The dowager queen screamed out  and my eyes widened when chan pulled the cloth away

It was Hannah. The dowager queen immediately walked to Hannah's body, and she started to cry and I felt tears forming in the corner of my eyes

"H-how d-did h-happen?" The dowager queen asked sobbing to her son as  her hand caressed her dead daughter's head and whispered something

"She and her dragon, Melaera got shot down from the sky during the battle, and when I found her, she was impaled by sharp spike through the stomach. She probably fell off Melaera when they reached the ground. " Chan said, calm

It is almost like he has no emotions or something. I saw that Lucas was crying so I walked to him and he looked at me and hugged me

I hugged him back, and I stroked his back, and I tried to calm him down. Then chan walked away, and everyone who he walked by gasped and horrified
