How They Met

Chapter 6 | How They Met

It was no mystery of how Louis and Misaki met. Despite the deer being adopted by a wealthy father, the school recommended him to be Misaki's guide around school and get to know more about animals as she studied. 

"Hello, Misaki," Tarok, her assigned facility member and a Philippine Eagle, gave a comforting pat on the back as Misaki was too scared to be seen. The announcement and reveal of her in front of the entire city took a full toll on her energy. 

"Come on, I still have to introduce you to a new friend you will be meeting," he shared and Misaki finally looked up. What she saw was a red deer much taller than her. She could only assume that he was the same age as her. "This is Louis, do you know what animal is he?" Tarok asked to test her. 

"He's a red deer," she answered and held onto his sleeve as she showed herself more. "Correct," he smiled at her. "Now Louis, I know this is a lot of responsibility on your part for looking after her. I'm sure your principal has mentioned this to you," they talked to Louis. "Yes, and as future Beastar, I'll do my best to make her feel welcomed," he shared. 

And that's what he did. At first, anyway. 

He was open, but it seemed to be a facade. Misaki could see through it anyway as she remembered him brushing her off after a week. It took a lot of effort for Misaki to show that she was more capable than he thought of her, that she wasn't weak. 

She made sure not to bother him a lot, but that seemed to make him want to get closer to her. The two have grown to act like siblings that they never knew they needed. They rely on each other and Louis doesn't feel guilty or ashamed when sharing his thoughts.

"Eek!" Haru looked startled upon seeing a bloody Louis holding his fallen antlers. "Oh, sorry for scaring you. I'm just shedding my antlers earlier than I expected," he apologized and shared. "You're a member of the Gardening Club, right? Misaki said that not a lot of people come up here," he mentioned. 

"Um, yes. If you're looking for Misaki, she isn't here now. She went to buy snacks with another friend," Haru answered. It didn't take long for them to make a deal and the two got closer, intimately. 

"Hey, Haru," Louis called out to Haru after they had their intimate moment. "Will you three be going to the Meteor Festival?" He asked. "Yeah, we'll be selling plants and flowers. We need to maintain the club budget," she shared. "I can give you all the money you need for the budget. This is the only place we can meet anyway," he looked thoughtful.

"I want more love than money," she shared and was startled by Mei laughing from outside. "Louis, don't listen to her! We want the money," Mei called out from outside the clubroom door as Misaki laughed. The two had been playing card games as Louis and Haru were having sex. They weren't as bothered by it unlike years ago. 

"Are you two dressed? I need to get something in there," Misaki stood up from the ground and opened the door after getting a reply from the two. She felt quite bad for Haru, remembering that Louis had a fiancee due to him being in a noble family. 

"Oh, you're wearing my jacket," Louis pointed out as Misaki grabbed her tumbler, "Isn't it hot out?" He asked in concern. "Yeah, but I feel more comforted wearing long sleeves," she shared as she played with the hem of the hoodie. "When do you want it back?" She asked as she gave a water bottle to Haru with a smile. 

"You can keep it. It's fine," he shared as he looked at Haru. "About your earlier statement, I thought I told you to understand my situation. A young beast must maintain a pure bloodline and it was decided that I would marry my fiancee after I graduated so I could succeed the family. I don't even have a say in the matter," he shared with the dwarf rabbit and caressed her head.
