Chapter 8

Branch sighed sleepily, this has all been emotionally draining.

First, his oldest brother shows up!

Then, he gets told Floyd is in danger.

After that, he was told they needed The Perfect Family Harmony, the one thing that made them all leave him.

Then, they need to find the rest of their brothers.

Finally, they're going on a long trip and he's barely awake thanks to all of the adrenaline.

John Dory had taken immediate notice to how sleepy Branch is and he smiled at Poppy and Tiny Diamond, "You guys tell me if you find anything or if anything goes wrong, or anything at all, okay?"

Tiny gave a thumbs up, "You got it, goggles!" He cheered and continued driving.

Poppy tilted her head, "Why? What are you gonna do?"

He smiled and pointed to Branch, "I'm gonna go put him to sleep!"

Poppy looked at Branch and watched his head fall forward before he jolted himself awake, she smiled warmly, "Alright, but if you hurt him nobody will ever even know you existed."

JD blinked and ignored the threat, quickly walking over to Branch.

He sat next to his baby brother, "Hey, buddy? What's going on?"

Branch looked up a bit, "Hm? What's going on? Did we stop?"

JD chuckled, "No, no, Branch..I was only asking what was going on with you, are you sleepy?"

Branch yawned, "Nope."

He raised an eyebrow, "You sure?"

Branch hummed and nodded slightly.

"Well, maybe you should lay down? I might lay down too."

"Not sleepy.."

JD smiled, "You don't have to be sleepy to lay down, come on, let's lay down, okay?"

He layed down, patting the spot next to him, "Come on Branch!"

Branch huffed, "Nu-uh, not sleepy!"

JD sighed, he didn't wanna have to use this old trick.

He whistled.

Branch heard the whistle and quickly layed on the floor, "How dare you.."

JD smiled, "We didn't mean to train you like you were a dog! But you only responded to whistles for a while, so we had to use that to get you to listen..."

Branch pouted, "Still not fair.."

JD chuckled and rubbed his back, "Maybe not, but if it works, it works, right?"

Branch's eyes drooped, "I guess.." he mumbled.

JD smiled and began to hum a lullaby.

As soon as Branch heard his brother begin to hum, he knew he didn't stand a chance.

He quickly fell asleep.

JD wins.

(Next is Bruce, then Clay, and then Floyd! After I finish Floyd's I'll redo this but as each brother gets added, it makes a new helper to get Branch to sleep!)
