When JD woke up, he hadn't expected it to still be night.

He also didn't expect Branch to be hovering above his face.

He nearly screamed, but Branch acted quickly and covered his mouth.

When he calmed down, he sat up and stared at Branch, "Starlight? What happened, you normally don't scare the shit outta me like that unless you had a nightmare...did you have a nightmare, baby?"

Branch nodded and climbed into his bed, already cuddling him, "Yeah.."

"You wanna tell me what happened?"

Branch sighed, "Well, you remember the first time you attempted to take me on stage and I jumped off to hug the crowd?"

JD nodded, tensing up as he remembered what happened.

"Well, it was about that, but they threw me around too much and my brain got all jostled around and...well I was never able to speak or sing again, so you guys told me that I was bad and that nobody could love a freak like me.." he whimpered.

JD frowned, "Oh, buddy...if that HAD been the case, you know what we really would've done?"

"Hm?" Branch looked up with hopeful eyes.

"Well, first we would torture them, then we would slowly, and I mean slowly, kill them." He said shamlessly.

Branch giggled, feeling a bit better, "Really?"

"Yep, and if it makes you feel better I'll go track them down and we can do it anyway. But for now, close your sleepy eyes, little one..." he said gently.

Branch hummed softly, closing his eyes as JD asked.

It didn't take long for Branch to fall asleep.

JD however, stayed awake late into the night, preparing how he would explain to the others how he would need some help finding and torturing two certain trolls...

JD wins again.
