Big bros vs. Sleepy Baby bro

Chapter 31

Branch sighed and walked into the kitchen, ignoring Floyd, Clay, and Bruce.

He walked towards JD and hugged him from behind.

He's sleepy and he wants his oldest big brother...

JD smiled and turned around, then he pat the youngest on the head, "Hey, buddy. Bad night?"

Branch nodded, cuddling up to him even more, "Bad night."

JD carefully walked over to the table as Branch continued to cling to him, once he was sat down, Branch sat next to him and layed his head on JD's shoulder.

JD smiled and passed a cup of coffee to Branch, "Will this make you feel better?"

When Branch just gave him a sad sigh, he slid a piece of chocolate over to the youngest as well.

And as soon as he saw the chocolate, Branch sat up and smiled, taking a sip of coffee then quickly opening the chocolate and taking a bite from it.

"Johnny, you're the best.." he mumbled.

John smirked, looking the other three in the eyes, "Thanks, baby bro."

Floyd glared, he can't believe his spot was just stolen.

Clay clenched his fists under the table, he wants that spot...

Bruce's eye twitched, he will be Branch's favorite, if it's the last thing he does.

Meanwhile, Branch was oblivious to all of this, just enjoying his coffee and his chocolate.

JD hummed as he took a sip of his own coffee, "You know Branch...we have a lot more in common then you would think.."

Branch tilted his head, giving JD a bit of his attention.

"Our coffee for example, you take yours black and so do I! Then we've got our isolation preferences."

Branch seemed to think about this for a moment, then he nodded, "True..our love for animals too!"

"And our brothers!"

"Eachother."

"AND-" Floyd yelled, quieting down when he had their attention, "-we're done with that, thank you both."

Branch huffed, looking a bit confused as he stared at Floyd.

JD smirked, "Don't worry, starlight, he's just jealous because he misses your old cuddle sessions."

That was when Clay, Floyd, and Bruce realized that John knows something they don't.

JD chuckled, he knows Branch is still incredibly sleepy, poor guy had a bad night, he needs all the rest he can get.

So he may or may not of just used Branch's sleepiness against him..

But it was working.

Branch looked distressed at the thought of Floyd being sad.

So he got up and grabbed Floyd's hand, dragging him into the living room and gently pushing him on the couch.

That was the moment when Floyd, Clay, and Bruce realized what was going on, so they began to play along.

Floyd sighed sadly, which made Branch move even faster, quickly running off to grab a blanket.

When he came back, he flopped on Floyd carefully, and covered them with the blanket.

As Branch snuggled Floyd, who did seem to be much happier, Bruce, Clay, and JD smiled, beginning to help in their own ways.

Bruce went off to make them all some warm milk, Clay sang soft lullabies, and JD told them stories of his travels.

It wasn't long before all of them had ended up on the couch, and it was even less time when they all fell asleep.

Big brothers win again.
