ANANDITA'S POV
I'm pregnant.
Honestly, I'm feeling a mix of emotions.
There's happiness, of course, but also a bit of anxiety as I contemplate the new journey ahead. The feeling of experiencing something completely unfamiliar is both exciting and nerve-wracking.
My gynecologist sent me some articles to read, which I asked for to help me understand what to expect. It's all so overwhelming.
Standing in front of the mirror, I place both palms under my belly, turning to every angle just to feel the reality sinking in. The bump will start showing in four or five months, so I have some time to prepare.
Turning from side to side, a blend of emotions floods my mind: excitement, nervousness, and love already for the growing life.
It's overwhelming to know that there's a life growing inside me.
Kartikeya's happiness about my pregnancy is so noticeable; it's like he's doing a victory dance every time he walks into the room. He showers me with love and care, treating me like a fragile package marked 'Handle with Care' that he's afraid of breaking.
Who wouldn't love being showered with so much affection? It's like living in a romantic comedy but with more laughter and less drama.
I want this.
"Mom sent this," Kartikeya said as he entered, closing the door behind him. He carried a bowl, filling the room with the aroma of vegetables.
His parents arrived yesterday to stay with us, especially since we're expecting a baby. They'll be living with us for a while. I can see how much Kartik's mother misses him, and he's aware of it, but he seems to prefer things this way.
I wrinkled my nose at the sight of the dal khichdi he placed on the nightstand. My hands dropped to my sides as I walked to the edge of the bed, watching him stir the khichdi.
"I love you," he said out of the blue, and I felt a rush of warmth flood my cheeks.
"So random," I chuckled, shaking my head as I looked at him with adoration.
Returning my gaze with a charming grin, Kartikeya said, "Well, you know, I just couldn't resist telling you how much I adore you, especially when you scrunch up your nose like that."
