Jimmy's Point Of View

"Jimmy, I'm tellin' you, this battle's your ticket to respect, man

"Jimmy, I'm tellin' you, this battle's your ticket to respect, man. Most importantly, respect yourself... Don't let none of this bring you down, no matter how many times you fall. But if you go through with this battle, everything's gonna change. Put everything you got into it, and it's gonna flip the script," Future persisted, trying to sway me into agreeing to the damn battle.

I was already steamed from Trish's sour attitude before she stormed out, bringing a bad vibe after she straight up dissed us.

My whole damn night went to shit the moment her crew walked in... I'm still trying to shake off my choke from last night, but those fools were talking so much smack about me, I could hear it clear from our table.

I was seething.

"Yeah, Rabbit—Forget what Free World's saying, man! They don't mean crap," Cheddar chimed in loud enough for Free World to hear, but they just glanced over without saying a word.

"Can y'all just lay off my case?" My agitation dripped from my words.

Future let out a heavy sigh. "Man, just hear me out—"

"No! I already told you, I ain't signing up for one of your damn battles, Future! Stop pushin' it on me, man—I already got enough on my plate, and you want me to sign up for more humiliation?! How many times I gotta say I'm not interested?! It's all just pointless if I'm just gonna choke like last time!... Cut the naggin, dawg!" I erupted unintentionally, just fed up with them pestering me about this.

I caught some heads turning, even Free World snickering. And it only fueled my annoyance further.

"Jimmy, my man, just chill for a sec... Fear's just a shadow, man. It messes with our heads and holds us back from reaching our true potential. But deep down, we've all got this strength and courage, you feel me? We gotta tap into that inner power to rise above our fears and do our thing."  Iz tried to uplift me with his wise words, but today, I wasn't in the mood for his deep talk. He's always on that philosophical stuff.

Sol and Future chuckled at Iz's speech, while I simmered with anger. And as usual, Cheddar looked lost.

"Get this preachin' ass nigga outta here." Sol laughed.

I shot up from my seat, my face burning with a mix of fury and shame.

"Where you goin', Rabbit?" Future's laughter faded.

"Gonna step out for a bit," I muttered as I made for the door.

"Can I come?" Cheddar asked, but I didn't bother answering. I just pushed through the crowd, keeping my head down, bumping into a few people who shot me dirty looks. Some didn't even notice me... but others knew what went down at the battle last night.
I heard 'That's the dude that choked yesterday night' a couple of times and the heated feelin' that lied beneath my skin only grew more and more as I got angrier.
