"I have evidence that the child poses no risk to our kind," Alice declared, causing our family to sigh in relief, though she struggled against the men restraining her. "Let me show you," she offered, extending her hand. Aro, ever the opportunist, accepted, perusing her visions and memories. "Brother," Caius interjected, "it doesn't matter what she shows you. Even when you see, you won't alter your decision." Alice turned back to her family, whispering, "Now." Bella understood the signal, telling Jacob, "Take care of my daughter." He nodded. I gazed at Renesmee with sorrow as she departed on Jacob's back. As Aro commanded "Get them," a guard pursued them, only to be sent flying by Alice's kick. The crowd was stunned. "Take her away," Aro ordered, and the guards began escorting Alice out. Carlisle gave me a knowing smile, which I met with a shake of my head, pleading, "Please don't go." "She's our daughter; I can't let this happen," he declared, charging at the guards. He leapt, but so did Aro. Reacting swiftly, I opened a portal, which Aro entered, landing far off. Carlisle reached Alice, dispatching the guards and freeing her. As she ran to us, I opened another portal for Carlisle, but Jane's powers caught him. He writhed in agony. My shock was palpable as I screamed, "No!" Ignoring my family's calls, I launched into the air, unleashing a red wisp ball at Demetri. It missed, striking down several Volturi instead. But it was too late; Demetri decapitated Carlisle, and I plummeted from the sky, unresponsive.
Time seemed to stand still, and there I was, alone once more.
Shock etched on every face, yet Sam felt nothing as she knelt. It wasn't until two guards seized her, pulling her to her feet, her gaze downward, tears unshed, that she whimpered in pain from the loss of her mate. Aro approached, lifting her chin with a somber expression, mourning the friend he had slain. Now she was without a mate, but this did not sway Aro from his decision."Take her away," he commanded, turning back to the others. Edward stood in shock, witnessing not only Carlisle's demise but also Sam's abduction. The witness was stunned, unable to believe their long-time friend would depart this world so soon. Elliot, fueled by vengeance for his brother and his mate, charged towards the Volturi, determined not to let them take Sam. Benjamin watched helplessly as Sam was taken, while the Cullen family and witnesses rallied behind Elliot, leading the charge. The wolves began to advance, but at Sam's command, they halted, just as the Volturi charged towards the Cullens, who were desperately trying to reach the seemingly lifeless Sam. Marcus felt a pang of empathy for the girl, reminded of his own loss, but he was paralyzed by his loyalty to his brothers. Edward, unable to hear her cries, read Sam's thoughts and knew she could read his. "Sam," he thought desperately, "Sam!" he screamed internally, but she ignored him, focusing instead on fighting off the witnesses. Edward struggled to reach Sam, hindered by the onslaught of Volturi, but unnoticed by many, Benjamin and Vlad were making headway. Vlad, with his superior combat experience, was faring better, and together they raced towards Sam, with wolves leaping overhead and vampires converging on them. The witnesses parted, allowing Ben and Vlad to pass. Benjamin, caught off guard, was seized by a vampire, but Vlad intervened, dispatching the attacker with a swift decapitation. Realizing how close they were, Vlad nodded to Ben, who dashed towards Sam. As Stephen joined Vlad in battle, Ben slid towards Sam, using his earth powers to fend off attackers and protect her. Weakened, Sam began to fall, but Vlad swooped in, catching her before she could hit the ground.
