Meanwhile, in one of the bathrooms of an imposing battle barge, Primarch Tomoe tried to clear her mind under the constant flow of water that fell on her body.
After numerous victories clearing worlds of traitors in regions close to the kingdom of Ultramar, Lord Commander Robute Guilliman decided to grant him control of a medium-sized fleet under his command.wingspan, with the battle barge "The Revenge of Blood" being the flagship of said fleet.
In the public eye, Tomoe's existence and theastartes women was a secret, one that very few in the empire knew. After all, in a universe on fire the least I wanted was forindividuals unwantedbegin to to question the origin andappearance of an unknown primarch. Something that Tomoe herself agreed on, being the captaincat the one who would be the public face of said crusade. A responsibility too great for a mere captain, but... Who in their right mindjudgment question the Lord Commander's orders?
In fact, the very existence of female space marines was a secret even to the rest of the forces within the army, and given that the imposing WK-2 armors werepractically identical from the outside, it was impossible to tell the difference. Additionally, their helmets had a modulator to modify their own voices. In fact, only Takeko's existence was known within the army, and from the point of view of the lower-ranking soldiers,it is He was simply the right hand of the imposing monster who wore the red armor and guided the entire crusade. Was he a custodian? Was it Guilliman himself wearing other armor? regular soldiersnever they would know the answer nor the identity of the primarch of the second legion.
Still, so many responsibilities, so much weight of the present and the past now fell on the shoulders of the primarch. She knew that Guilliman was counting on her to save the Empire, even if the Empire itself was unaware of her existence. But she was willing to do it. For those who were still fighting... and for those who were no longer capable of doing so.
Tomoe was in a meditative state under the shower, remembering, reliving so many moments, imagining so many others. His hand slowly moved down her body, until it stopped on herbelly. About that disastrous part where it had a pronounced and horrendousscar that crossed her from side to side... And she remembered.
-------------------------------Flash Back----------------------------
Tomoe: - What more do you want from me!? -
Countless years in the past, the primarch's angry voice echoed within the imperial palace of the Holy Terra. In one of the colossal hallways, adorned with luxurious ornate objects and covered in the purest gold, a colossal being ruled over all life forms on Terra and all humanity.
The Emperor, then in the healthy use of his faculties, remainedproud, standing, with his head forward looking into the passage where he was, focusing his eyes towards the destination where he was going. But completely turning his back on his daughter.
Not many witnessed such a scene, except the Emperor and Tomoe themselves, in addition to the fourguards that guarded that area of the palace, but also... there was one more. One who also remained behind the Emperor's back, holding his sister's shoulder trying to contain his anger. At his side was the primarch Perturabo.
Tomoe: - I have given everything! I have sacrificed myself like any other primarch! And yet not evenare able to recognize that I exist! What else do I have to do for you to recognize me as someoneworthy!? -
Pertuabo:- Please... Tomoe. Try to calm down. -
But for the primarch to calm down it was impossible. Wasproperty of everything. Wasproperty to destroy his body and his mind for some recognition, some appreciation from his father.
Tomoe had a gift... a gift like no other. A gift that even the Emperor himself saw with scared eyes. Of all the primarchs, Tomoe was the only one to speak to his face, looking directly into his eyes. Not like Mortarion who saw him withcraving of revenge. or like Angron, whose rage was simply uncontrollable. Nothing of that. Tomo's face looked at his father defiantly, as if he had no need to kneel before him when he was in front. She was the only one whose tongue didn't tremble whensay your errors in the face. And that was something that scared even the Emperor himself.
