📁 Jack's missing chapter
Everyone has a story but Jack never had his... or at least it wasn't entirely logged, perhaps remembered, but was drowned out by the people who made him what he is today or so he says...
Jane opened the envelope when she was alone. Jack was in his padded room contemplating about life and why he was stuck with crazy people who said he was crazy. It was ironic that the more he tried to protest that he was normal as he says the more they would doubt him and sooner rather than later he just gave in and agreed with them. There was no point anyway, but Jack was used to this. He sighed to himself wondering if Jane had found out more about him and remembered her curious eyes that tended to stare into his own from time to time.
Jane read through some things and tried to find important information but she was a little lazy to read the whole thing. It was 300 thinly cut pages after all that were compressed to fit into the yellow envelope she had before her.
"They can't expect me to read all this, you'd swear this is a book review and not a case." She was a bit frustrated but flipped through the thing.
"Jack was an orphan, blah blah blah, quite clever, got a bursary, a rich family took him in, sent him to a school for elites, yada yada yada, yep everything matches what he told me but... what I don't understand is why is the family that adopted him was not mentioned?" Jane looked further into the pages checking any mentions of the family but found nothing.
"Something isn't adding up or they covering up something." She seemed to be spotting a lot of red flags and now was sure that the organization they were working for definitely had a lot of secrets and a lot of things they didn't seem to want to mention. She needed to show Jack this but it was really hard to talk to him when they hardly gave her much of a chance here.
"Maybe it's best for us to leave the facility cause they not going to let me have enough time to piece this all together while we are here?" She flipped through the pages. "20 mob members killed by a serial killer with no reason as to why? I thought he was killing innocent people." Jane thought out loud reading further. "Wait a minute. This isn't adding up..." Furrowing her eyebrows she read on, "so is Jack a silent Hero then? Why is he only killing bad guys?"
