First Date

Yusuke was nervous as hell! Tomorrow would be one week since Kurama and him starting dating. Of course Kurama was still decently sickly the entire week so it mainly turned into Yusuke being Kurama's nurse. Trying to help him recover was the most important thing! Kurama wasn't a 100 percent just yet but he was well enough to have decent energy. Since it had been a week Yusuke really wanted to take Kurama out. Though...Yusuke never planned a date before! It took all day but he figured he had something decent lined up. He took a shower to try and relax then stood at his closet racking his brain on what to set out to wear tomorrow. It was going to be a casual date so something simple would be ok but Kurama always dressed so nice so maybe he should pick something slightly more dressy? He grumbled and groaned pacing in front of his closet.

"Yusuke?" His mother called knocking on his bedroom door "you decent?"

"Yes mom." Yusuke sighed sitting on the edge of his bed staring intensely at his closet.

Atsuko came in "hey kiddo. I've been hearing you fussing around in here for almost two hours. Something wrong?"

Yusuke looked annoyed "tomorrow is one week...I planned out a date for Kurama and I and..." He shook his head "I don't know what to wear."

Atsuko snickered and laughed "how very unlike you! You usually wear whatever without thinking to much about it."

"Yeah but this is different mom!"

Atsuko shook her head "ok it's a casual date right?" Yusuke nodded "ok and it's going to be decently mild weather sooooo..." She hummed as she looked through Yusuke's closet "how about...this with this aaaaannd..." She opened Yusuke's pants drawer in his dresser "these jeans!" She laid the outfit on his bed. A red T-shirt, a orange plaid long sleeve shirt and dark colored jeans "and don't tuck in your shirt."

Yusuke looked at the outfit for a while. He shrugged it was definitely better than what his frazzled mind would be able to come up with. He nodded "thanks mom."

Atsuko ruffled Yusuke's hair "don't mention it Yusuke." She chuckled as Yusuke swatted her hand away "you know what's really cute..." Yusuke hummed confused "you have this...almost like a glow about you. I really can't explain it."

Yusuke clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes "you're imagining things."

Atsuko shook her head "no I'm sure about it. You actually look genuinely happy. It's been a while since I've seen you this excited."

Yusuke smiled "yeah...we haven't really been able to do much but even these softer slower days have been really nice."

"It's definitely a good change in you kiddo." Atsuko headed out "by the way I think we should have a leftover night tonight. We've got a decent amount in the fridge."

Yusuke nodded "sounds good mom."

Atsuko left Yusuke's room. Yusuke folded up his outfit for tomorrow putting it on top of his dresser then went out to the kitchen for dinner.

The next morning Yusuke awoke with an extra early alarm. He convinced Kurama to start sleeping in a little bit but he wanted to get there as early as possible and make breakfast. He quickly got dressed, grabbed his keys, a long nap sack and quickly went to the door sitting down to pull on his sneakers.

"Awwwww look at you all excited!" Yusuke looked behind him at his mother "you taking your motorcycle?"

Yusuke nodded "Kurama is still slightly weak from his pneumonia so I'm not making him walk all over the city."

Atsuko nodded "got your extra helmet?" Yusuke held up his nap sack, "wallet?" He nodded as he tied his sneakers "condoms?"

Yusuke blushed brightly throwing an extra shoe at his mother "mom!" His mother laughed as she ducked "For one Kurama is definitely not in the proper state for that and two it's only our first date!"
