New Life

One Month

A month...it's been a whirlwind of amazing and anxiety. It took another 5 days for Kurama to fully recover but Yusuke was incredible with helping. Yusuke's care, love and attention was healing. Kurama still woke up most mornings feeling like their relationship was a dream but Yusuke's daily 'good morning' texts and almost daily visits helped ease Kurama's anxiety slowly. It was definitely still there but it felt like it probably always will be there. Kurama was embarrassed by it. As much as he trusted and loved Yusuke he still in the back of his mind had the feeling that something would happen and they wouldn't be together anymore.

Kurama sighed softly as he chopped veggies for a stew for dinner. It was still really early barely even lunch but Kurama liked to be prepared and plus stew always tased better if you let it simmer for a couple hours. He continued to chop vegetables even as he heard the door open. He snickered softly as he felt Yusuke's arms wrap around his waist from behind and his nose nuzzle his neck. Kurama rolled his eyes "seriously Yusuke I'm trying to cook."

Yusuke held Kurama tighter kissing the back of his neck before grinning mischievously "you could be my main course." Kurama shook his head. Yusuke took in a deep breath breathing in Kurama's scent "or maybe dessert since you're sweet."

Kurama blushed and chuckled "I think you're the sweet one."

Yusuke snickered "and here I was waiting for you to call me a pervert."

"You're that as well." Kurama teased "now I know you didn't just come here to bother me so what's going on?"

Yusuke closed his eyes nuzzling deeper into Kurama's neck "you know what today is right?"

Kurama nodded as he tried to continue his vegetable prep "together for one month." He blushed "you have something planned don't you?"

Yusuke smiled against Kurama's neck "of course I do."

Kurama put down his knife "ah and I was gonna make a stew tonight."

"Hey I did something for our one week as well as something to celebrate you getting better so you should have known I'd have something planned today."

Kurama smiled softly "I guess but since it's Thursday I thought you'd be doing your truck and we'd do something over the weekend."

"Well then it would be a weekend date not a one month together date."

"So I guess that means I should keep our anniversary dates free? No matter what time of the week it lands on."

Yusuke nodded kissing Kurama's ear "exactly" he whispered softly. "We have the luxury of doing it so why not?"

Kurama crossed his arms over Yusuke's slowly lacing their fingers together "you're just lucky I didn't schedule any clients today."

"Maybe deep down you knew we'd be doing something today?"

Kurama chuckled softly "only if you let me go and allow me to clean up."

Yusuke shook his head "not yet I'm comfortable." He goes back to nuzzling Kurama's neck.

"How on earth are you comfortable?" Kurama laughed softly...not that he minded. Having Yusuke hold him felt really amazing.

Yusuke shrugged "I'm just comfortable. Maybe it's a combination of being happy and just holding you. I don't even care we're standing." Kurama blushed his heart rate quickening. Yusuke smiled "not to mention your heart beat, even though it's fast, is calming." Kurama playfully elbowed Yusuke's side. Yusuke laughed jumping sightly "careful fox boy I go down you go down with me."

"You know I could break out of your grip anytime I want right?"

Yusuke held tighter to Kurama "just try it."
