A year and a half later

Watching Harry interact with my parents has been an absolute bliss, especially when Lucas is the only one besides me who can translate Harry's speech so that my parents could get a grasp of what he's saying, since they only speak Slovak. Of course, usually the conversation descends into complete chaos, leaving my parents confused. But for some reason, Harry still trusts him even when I'm not around, which doesn't fail to amaze me.

The two of them have been spending a lot of time together lately, mainly because of the fact they're designing new merchandise together. Lucas has created wonderful designs for Harry's line Pleasing, which is going to look amazing in his portfolio. The fans seem to love it and my boyfriend simply couldn't be happier.

Tomorrow marks our anniversary. We've been officially living together for a year now, not just spending a few days a week at his house like we used to. I remember the day when I moved in. Poppy claimed that the tooth fairy had finally made her dreams come true, since it meant we would spend every day together.

I love our little family. Living in London has also made it easier for me to focus on my career and Harry finally got to focus more on making some new music, which he's still hesitant to play for me. He still hasn't decided on a release date, but I can tell he's working on something.

It's a strange feeling to celebrate our anniversary here in Slovakia with my parents, but Harry already sees them as his family, which makes me incredibly happy. It was actually his idea to pay a surprise visit to them, since they still haven't visited us in England because my father is scared of flying. For some reason, he's almost certain the plane will crash the second he steps foot on it, which is why he'd never flown by plane in his life.

To say that my parents were surprised to see us would be an understatement. Both of them cried tears of happiness when they pulled me and Harry into a tight hug, making him feel included despite the language barrier. Of course, we've had dozens of video calls with them, so technically this wasn't their first encounter with Harry.

I think they have a soft spot for his cheeky smile. Both of them seem to love him, which made me incredibly happy. It's possible that Lucas has been talking to them about Harry ever since he first visited us in England rather unexpectedly. Well, we've returned the favour now, since he was surprised as well to see the three of us standing at the door. I'm sure I wouldn't be lying if I said he missed Poppy the most. Seeing the two of them reunite was definitely something, I can't help but smile at the touching memory of them doing their special handshake.

To say that my parents adore Poppy would be an understatement. They're her biggest fans. Whatever she wants, she gets. Yesterday night, when it was way past her bedtime, she went downstairs on her own without waking us up. Thankfully, my mum was still up, having some tea in the kitchen. Somehow, the little cheeky girl persuaded her to make her some pancakes. At 11 PM, might I add. I never had such privileges when I was her age, which brings me to my hypothesis that my parents love her even more than they love me.

It brings me joy to think that our little flower has just gained another set of grandparents who will always be there for her. She's learned some phrases of Slovak from them and she's already saying how she can't wait to brag about it to her friends at school. Our little girl has finally made friends.

I shake away my thoughts and look around the table as I take a bite of dad's homemade garlic bread. It goes so well with the stew and reminds me of my childhood. He always used to make it for me when I felt under the weather. I already know I'll feel homesick when we come back to England. I've missed my parents.

"H, what do you think about selling vibrators?" Lucas asks him during dinner right in front of my parents, making me gag on my food. Poppy has just gone to use the toilet, so gladly, at least her ears were spared from listening to such nonsense.
