Chapter 11 Follow Us

I turn around to see who calls my name, it is the girls that we met at the market the first day, Neoma and Luna. Luna in her cat form jumps into Neomas arms, then they teleport in front of me. “I see you're wanted in 17 towns, you should stick with us,” says Luna, before I can say anything Neoma grabs my arm and Iris arm. Mikro and Eclipse grab my arm, knowing I'm gonna get teleported away. Neoma tries to teleport all 6 people, she struggles but manages to do it. We get teleported to their home, Neoma almost passes out as teleporting 6 people took a lot of energy out of her.

I shuffle in my bag to get one of the 2 fruits, I grab it out and hand it to Neoma. She eats it all in one bite, and seems to regain her energy. Luna meows and jumps off her sister's arms. Her soft black paws didn't even make a thump when she landed. Luna shut her eyes and turned into her human form. Neoma started to choke on a seed as her eyes widened at Luna. Luna's outfit was like a circus outfit. A silk black almost looking bathing suit. She had black see through tights on along with a small black top hat that hung from the side of her hair. “WHERE DID YOU GET THAT  OUTFIT FROM!?” Neoma stumbled with her words. “Don't be silly! I got this from a voodoo store so we can get money!” Luna replied with an eye roll. Neoma’s eyes started to twitch. “Oh wait, I don't mean that! I mean we perform!” Luna jumped into the air. “That's not going to happen, sweet heart. Just look around, Mikro and Ares are in danger alongside me! So I’m not just going to allow you to do that!” Eclipse snapped at the two. Neoma’s eyes widened but she just sighed and nodded. Luna rolled her eyes. “I WANNA BE A PERFORMER!” Mikro squealed. I looked at everyone then sighed. “Fine we can perform BUT only for money.” 

Eclipse groaned and smacked her face with the hand. “Aw Come on, Eclipse! It's going to be fun!” Luna exclaimed. Eclipse just rolled her eyes. “Sure it will.” While Luna and Neoma were arguing, I was looking around the place. Most of the walls were painted a mystical looking purple, the rest of the walls were painted black. From far away I look through a doorway, in the corner of the room a black side table with a red candle sits atop of it. The candle is lit, and the only light source in that room. The arguing suddenly stops, the room goes quiet.

I feel the sense of eyes, someone watching me. I turn around to see every one, Eclipse, Mikro, Luna, and Neoma staring at me. My eyes looked at everyone in confusion but soon I let out a big yawn, breaking the silence. “Are you tired?” Neoma asks me in  a subtle voice. I look at her and nod my head. “Follow me, I'll show you your room,” says Neoma, as she starts walking towards the room with the red candle. I follow behind her quickly, catching up to her as she stops at the door. She walks into the room, the bed hidden from the view of the door and boxes in front of it. “Don't mind the mess, we haven't had a guest in years,” Neoma tells me, looking at the boxes. “Dont worry about it, my room is much more messy,” I assured her. I walk towards the bed, and then hang my bag on the headboard of the bed. From where I'm standing I tried to blow out the candle, it looked like a gust of wind. It blew out the candle, but then the table started wobbling. I blinked and rubbed my eyes, and it stopped wobbling. “I'm just tired, my mind is playing tricks on me.” I mutter under my breath, to reassure myself. I get into bed and lay down, seconds later I pass out.

I slowly opened my eyes and took in a deep breath of the smell of maple bacon and when I woke up, I saw my mother cooking. “Hello deary!” my mother says, as she flips the bacon. “How are you here?”  I look at her thinking she is an imposter, but also about to cry. She looks at me in confusion, Then screeches. I cover my ears, as I watch her turn to ash. “MOM!” I scream, crying. I woke up in shock, it was just a dream… a nightmare. I hear Luna's voice, and then Eclipse's voice. I jolted out of bed and looked all over the place. Holy moly… That was definitely not any normal dream.

I turn my head towards the muffled voices of the others. I walk out the room rubbing my eyes, to see Neoma and Luna cooking and Eclipse and Mikro sitting at the table. “Good Morning Sleepy Head!” Luna says. I groaned and stretched as I walked towards the table to sit by Eclipse. Luna carries five plates to the table and places one at every spot, then passes me the plate with different looking food. “We made you something special!” Luna says to me, looking like she is going to bounce up and down. I start eating, as I am really hungry. “You were having a nightmare… didn't you?” Says Neoma, walking to the table to sit down. I look at her with my mouth full of food, and nod my head. Swallowing quickly, “How did you know?” I asked her, confused. “Lets just say you were sleep talking,” She responds, “YOU SCREAMED MOM!” Mikro cuts in and says laughing as she spits food everywhere. “Ew,” Eclipse says, flicking a chunk of chewed bread on the table towards Mikro. Mikro shrugs her shoulders, then continues eating. Neoma stands up and grabs her empty plate, then she reaches over to grab mine.

She walks away towards the kitchen to wash the dishes. “So what was the nightmare about?” Luna asked me as she walked to wipe the table after Mikros mess. I shrugged. “It was horrible. My mother was there, Cooking bacon until she let out a terrifying screech. Then she turned into ash,” I mumbled at the end of the sentence. Luna stopped from whipping the table. I felt her eyes on me and I looked at her. “That sounds terrifying,” She mumbled after a long period of silence. “It was.” I gasped for breath as I felt a hard hand pat my back. “Ok. Y’all ready?” Mikro asked as she jumped up on the table. I Looked up at her with a raised eyebrow. “Ready for what?” I said, letting out a laugh. “To perform,” Mikro says, doing jazz hands. I gave a glance at Neoma and Eclipse. Neoma just sighed while Eclipse rolled her eyes. Iris put her hand on my shoulder and grinned. “Luna, go get the outfits,” I mumbled as I sat up. Luna nodded and ran off with Mikro following her. I pulled my chair in and walked over to the counter. “Let's try to make this the best we can! Earn the money and get away from this hellhole! Nobody will die tonight! Because I have a plan.” I smirked as I turned at everyone with blazing eyes. Luna and Mikro walked back into the room stunned. I narrowed my eyes and grinned.
“That's why this performance is a trick.” Eclipse took a step back with widened eyes. “Now who's in?!” I yelled as I turned around to face everyone. Luna and Neoma looked at each other and nodded. Mikro sighed and gave a short nod. I smiled at them and turned around to open a chest…
