I try to keep digging but every time I try it makes the same noise, CLUNK. I place my shovel on the ground and get on my hands and knees, dusting off dirt to see what I keep hitting. After dusting off the dirt with my hand I discovered it's a box. A really old box. Holding the box in my hand. Reminds me of a jewelry box, but a really small one for that matter. “Hmmm, who would leave a box here?” I questioned as I tried to pry it open… that's weird. The box has a hole for a key but the key was nowhere in sight. I start looking in the hole for the key but it's nowhere to be found. I just gave up trying to find it, It's a lost cost. As I stand back up to see a note fall out of the box, How did I not see that before? I snatched the note and started to read it. The note said…

I tap its right side three times, tik, tik, tik.

I do that again on its left side tik, tik, tik.

I rub his eye…

He opens his mouth and out comes the key.

Hmmmm, what does this mean…? I look at the box and it hits me, it has an eye! So I did everything the paper said to do, and just like it said, it opened a secret compartment and the key was in there. Slowly put the key in the hole and turn it… Whoosh! A strong mysterious purple wind comes from the box… “Ahh!” I screamed as the moment after I opened it I got sucked in by the wind. Was it a coincidence?! I open my eyes to happen to be in this weird place with a blood red sky and the trees and all dead, ash black color. I look at the box sitting right in front of me. “What just happened?” I gasped, shaking.

Quickly glancing around, still unsure about my surroundings. As I hear crows cawing in the distance, I quickly shut my eyes. “This is just a dream,” I kept whispering over and over again. I slowly opened one eye realizing it's not a dream. The box, The Box! I stand up abruptly looking around for the box. I locate it, right as a crow is about to swoop down and get it. Grabbing a hold of the box. I pulled it towards me, just enough that the crow missed. As the crow swoops down again I open the box with shaking hands… The same purple winds bring me back to the last time I opened the box. “Stop slacking Miss. Violet!” says the gym teacher with a stern look “It's already been four hours,” as the gym teacher says that I got up in a hurry “Sorry,” I say grabbing my shovel and starting to dig…

After I finished my row I grabbed the box and walked towards the bus.

The bus pulls back into the school right in time for the end of the day bell to ring, I start walking home wondering what happened in the field today. I started to wonder if it was all a hallucination, I mean the sun was really hot today and I could have just gotten heatstroke “Hey Ares, what happened to you? I came to check on you but you weren’t there,” said Louis as she ran to catch up to me. “I was in the bathroom,” I said, trying to cover up for what happened. Louis looks at me with a confusing expression before turning down her crescent and walking away. I continue to walk in silence, my mind running.

After walking home I got on my computer and looked up what happened, when I was in the field. After some weird websites and long minutes of pain, I found a place called the supernatural realm. Although I found a little bit about it, most of the information was in a book called Secrets of the Supernatural Realm… I've heard of that book in the library before.
