Chapter 7 The ring

My green and blue eyes widen as I look around the huge ring. Mikros head was down and tears started to form up in her wide hazel eyes. Eclipse put a hand on her shoulder and nodded. 

When we finally got through the crowd and sat down beside a long eared elf and green slopey goblin. I got startled when a deep voice rumbled through the crowd, making it quiet. “I call all monsters to pay attention to this sly thief, who broke the rules of the law. The king and I have decided the punishment. The punishment will be death,” The queen of the demon realm yelled out. Her devil tail flicked as her cold black glaring eyes widened. She grabbed a guard beside her and whispered something. And with a flick of her long black shaded elf ear a big horned monster walked out holding a small skinny wolf boy. “State your name,” The monster yelled at him. He snapped his teeth and started to growl. The monster threw him to the ground. The boy yelped and fell. He tried to get up but failed after being thrown.

The monster grabbed him and threw him to a hard wooden table. I was surprised nobody did anything. Eclipse gritted her teeth and slammed her fist shut. “This is stupid! Don’t you see he's innocent and starving!? I’m done with this bullshit!” She slammed her fist down on the bench. Mikro and I looked at each other. “Then what the hell do you want to do? If nobody is not moving then I will not go. I have a family!” I protested as I lifted my hands up. Eclipse glanced at me then down at the wolf kid. “Don’t you think he has a family too?” She snapped. I looked at the wolf then at Eclipse, a few times then sighed and gave up. “Fine… But if I die I'm blaming you,” I sighed through my gritted teeth. Eclipse smirked and mumbled some words and with a big golden dust explosion a big phoenix appeared. Helping Mikro up, The phoenix flapped its big golden wings and with a blink we reached the bottom of the ring. The queen widened her eyes then glared with a small grin. “Get out now!” Somebody yelled as the crowd started to rush out the exit.

But without me knowing a voice yelled from the crowd, “You might need help!” With a flash, Neoma and Luna appeared along with five more kids. “I see you guys are in need of help,” Neoma sighed, Mikro smiled and sniffed up her tears. “Eh… Might have thought about this for a second, sis,” Luna whispered to her sister as the huge horned monster walked up beside the queen. The small wolf boy, still in its grip. We turned to face the queen and king. “Let's do this!” Eclipse yelled before running at a guard. “Of course she just did that.” I smacked my face before I started running to another guard getting my fist ready. But as I started to run at the guard my head started to throb as loud sounds started to run through my brain. “Ares,” A deep voice whispered. “Stop!” I yelled, holding my hands to my head. “Ares!? Ares, what's wrong!?” Mikro yelled. “I don't know?!” I screamed in pain. I shut my eyes and let the pain run through. I screamed as a big body pushed me making my head hit the cold sandy ground. I opened my eyes to see the small boy standing in front of me.

His orange ears fell down as he glanced back at me. My eyes widened as he fell down to the ground. “Wait!” I yelled, getting up. There was an arrow in his stomach. “You're more important. Save the world,” He whispered before his eyes turning pale green. I looked up from the boy and glared at the guard who shot him. “A..Ares,” Someone whispered from behind me. Mikro was staring at me with wide eyes. I look behind, “What!?” I asked. “When did you have a tail?” She asked in a shaky voice. ‘‘What?!’’ I asked myself as I looked down, There was a small devil tail flicking back and forth. “Ares, watch it!”

 Someone ran right into me but this time it was a guard. Pinning my neck to the ground with his knee, I was stuck. “Great,” I mumbled. I heard Eclipse grumble under her breath as she kicked at one of the guards and opened her hand to a vibrant purple magic ball forming. I swallowed hard as the weight of the knee. “Damn man you're putting too much pressure on my neck,” I whispered. “Good!” He spat in my face. I tried to lift myself up but my hands would just slip under me. “Come on big man!” I yelled. “Now be quiet,” He screamed at me, putting more pressure on my neck. “Damn it,” I mumbled. “I give up.” calming down, not trying to fight the guard's grip.

I try to look up at the guard, but then a burst of light hits the guard flinging him far away from me across the ring. Looking at where the light came from, I see a person… The one that bumped into me at the market. The person holds out his hand to pull me up, I grab on as he pulls me up with his surprising strength. “Guards after him!” screams the queen. The person looks at me one last time in the eyes and runs off. The person's hood falls off revealing his head for a second, then he pulls the hood back up. I stared at him, ran away and turned towards the queen then Eclipse. The queen starts running at me and I crouched down, ready for the fight until I feel a strong grasp of a bird-like creature grab me and fly into the sky, looking up to see it's a griffin with Mikro and Eclipse on its back. Eclipse looks at me as I look at her. She puts out her hand. Grabbing the hand, she adjusts her grip. The griffin lets go of me and Eclipse pulls me up.

We fly back to Eclipses burrow, the wind howling in my ear and screams can be heard. The red sun is set nowhere to be seen, and the blue moon is in the sky shining bright. Swooping down into the trees, falling down the hole we land. Acid rain starts to fall as just get into the burrow. The griffin closes the hole sealing us inside. Eclipse puts out her hand as the griffin turns to dust. “Ares you still need to explain about that?” Eclipse asked me pointing at the little devil tail. “I don't know! It just happened,” I mumbled looking down with my hand wrapped on the other arm. “Well there's no need to explain now, can we hit the hound yet?” Mikro asked, yawning loudly. “Fine but Ares keeps that tail away from me,” Eclipse mumbled before walking away slamming the door.
