Seth sat on the rock conveniently placed near his make shift shelter put of logs and leaves, anything he could get his hands on in the forrest to make some sort of makeshift hut.
The nights were cold and quiet but nothing a shifter couldn't handle - the most painful thing about this was just being away from you.crack
"...Hello?" Seth peered around the corner, his eyes already greatly accustomed to the darkness of the night, waited for the noise to repeat. And it did but this time much closer. Seth quickly shifted, sniffing the area hoping to not have to deal with a leech in the darkness. He hasn't all day due to the recent lack of available animals to hunt, which was strange.
He stalked closer to the smell until he no longer trace it. Yet the chill still ran through his neck. all the hairs across his arm stood straight up.Seth then heard a low growl from behind him and a sudden weight on his back pushing him to the ground. A mountain lion stood in front of the shifter, bearing its teeth and lowering itself getting ready to pounce on Seth, but it didn't, the lion rose and cocked its head to the side in curiosity before lowering its head and swaying its tail back and forth. It was...happy?
The lion then retreated into the woods before reappearing instead as a lanky, young-looking guy. Much shorter than Seth, he bore a boyish grin while fixing his dark bangs that barely hit his eyes.Seth quickly retreated behind a tree and shifted before slowly walking out towards the other shifter.
"Hi" The lion-shifter excitedly said, practically bouncing on his toes "You're one of us, Arent you!?" He didn't even give Seth a chance to respond nor acknowledge what was happening, the nor quickly grabbed Seth's hands in his in adoration.Eyes shined even in the darkness, the boys eyes sparkled. With the boy placing Seths hands on his bare chest, he felt the rapid pounding of his heart and quickly ripped his hand away.
"Who- who are you?""Oh sorry!" The boy quickly straightened himself up "Im Aron, Im a shifter just like you!"
"Yeah...Uhh I gathered that. So where are your parents kid?" Seth eyes narrowing, sneering at the smaller boy who was greatly annoying him. Who could blame seth, He was getting irritable. No food, No you, Nothing."Kid? Parents? excuse I'll have you know I am 18 years old!"
"What?! You're that old??" He was in disbelief, this kid- man was so much smaller than him, skinnier too. Probably close to a middle schooler stature than that of a shifter. He might've been shorter than you by an inch.
"yeah, I get that a lot, how old are you anyway? 25 or something?""Uhm, I'm 16..."
Aron processed what Seth just said and his eyes widened "Wait- 16?, What are you micro-dosing steroids?"
Seth raised his eyebrows in wonder, he was tall and gained muscle randomly when he first became a shifter, but people weren't shocked to know he was 16. But now that he thought about it since he disappeared from the reserve he has gotten bigger. Taller. Faster. Stronger.
Seth ruffled his hair in frustration. Aron watched the younger, his heart slightly beating more rapidly at the sight of him. His shirtless, built stature with broad shoulders and yet a handsome boyish charm that encapsulated his features so well.
Who wouldn't fall for him?He has heard about shifters being able to imprint in his tribe, but in all his life he never thought he would experience it. Was this how imprinting felt like? The incredible infatuationand attraction to Seth.
He felt excited, he felt relief, he felt...greedy."Ok. So now that we established i am in fact 16, that still leaves me with the question.
Where the hell did you come from? I've been on my own here for god knows how long and never saw you or any other shifter.""Well sir, you are on our territory, and usually we hunted more north but since the food depleted there we moved down here"
"So you guys are the reason I havent been able to eat." He mumbled as his irritation grew.
"So...you still haven't told me your name, pretty boy" Aron smirked at Seth "Just Seth. No 'Pretty Boy' "
"Just seth?- well okay, Seth." He walked incredibly close to seth, a little too close for comfort "Since you are out here on your own, why dont you just stay in our village?" Aron placed his hands behind his back and rocked back and forth on his heels anticipating for the boys answer."Uh...well-" Seth backed away "Are you really in a position to argue right now?"
"Fine." Seth began feeling slightly frustrated "But I'm not overstaying my welcome." declaring that he wasn't going to make himself at a strangers home.
This put a damper on Aron hopes but who cares, his so-called imprint was going home with him. He bit his lip in excitement as Seth grabbed a tattered shirt he often used, hanging on his hut and slipped it on. He muscles flexed when placing the shirt over his head.Aron found it difficult to focus on anything Seth said to him as he watched him walk in front of him.
"Are you fucking listening?"
"Huh- what?"
"I said, where the hell is your village"
"Oh, right. Follow me Prett-"
"Seth."
Aron pouted at Seth's correction "you're no fun, you know that." crossing his arms continuing his walk. Seth's campfire that once illuminated Seth's little home, was dimmed only to be blown out by an unbeknownst person emerging from the darkness of the woods. their presence is so scarce that neither Seth nor Aron sensed them.
Seth turned back once more to the direction of his old campsite only to be greeted with darkness and the smoke from the once lively fire. He narrowed his eyes trying to focus his sights through the abyss, but nothing.
"Hey, are you coming or not?"
Seth nodded and began walking once more.
There was one thing for certain, despite meeting Aron, he knew it wasn't him stalking in the woods, he didn't give Seth the same feeling of what he first sensed what was out there.
