On her way to lunch Julia met up with Courtney who had told her that she just saw Clays mom talk with Bolan. The two girls were friends, not very close ones, but Julia knew her well enough to consider Courtney a friend.
And of them being on the tapes had brought both a lot closer together, all of them actually, kind of, at least.
The two girls walked into the cafeteria; Courtney led them to their table. "Clays mom came to see Bolan." She informed Jessica, Marcus and Zach.
Julia sat down in front of Zach whilst Courtney stood next to her. The others looked at them in shock, "What? Why?" The boy asked.
"What else could it be?" Julia said and Courtney sat down.
Jessica spoke up, "No, Clay wouldn't tell his mom about the tapes."
"Why not? He wasn't shy about Tyler." Marcus retorted.
"That would be so messed up if he told his mom." Zach said, "I'm with Justin. We need to do something serious."
"What, so your mom doesn't find out?" Jessica asked.
The boy turned to look at her, "Yeah, among other people, like maybe your dad or Julias parents." He pointed to the girl.
Julia furrowed her eyebrows but stayed silent. She had been telling everybody that had heard the tapes that what Hannah said was a lie and that she didn't know what she was talking about. Nobody tried to fight her on her statement, but they all knew.
"What can we do, if he's already ratted us out?" Marcus added, "I mean I'm on track for valedictorian I do not need this shit."
"Yes, Marcus, the most important thing right now is your valedictorian speech." Courtney told him. "Let's keep that in mind."
"I saw Tony at Clays house yesterday." Julia shared.
The four others at the table shared worried glances with one another and before anybody could comment on her statement Tyler suddenly walked up to their table, "You guys talking about Clay?"
Julia shared a look with the boy in front of her. "Keep your voice down, dude." Zach told Tyler.
Before any of them could interfere, Tyler sat down next to Zach. "Whatever you're doing, I want in."
"We're not doing anything, Tyler." Courtney answered the boy, "It's not like we would trust you if we were."
Tyler was silent for a second before scoffing, "This... this isn't fair."
