TODAY is Violet's first day at Thee, academy in The Capitol. The fifteen year old goes to take a look in her full length mirror, dreading having to wear a uniform. The teen flat ironed her hair too; No actual reason why she ditched her curls, she just wanted a change. The girl then grabs her backpack, and makes her way downstairs to the kitchen.

The girl hopes that her mother is not even awake. Violet has had doubts about the "solution" since last year. When she was younger, the games seemed like they were fair. The more she thought about it, the more she realized how awful it is. The "solution" stemmed from Casca Highbottom, about three years after the districts decided to bring a war all those years ago. Having an annual tradition where children fight each other for their lives had to be the solution? It isn't even their fault.

Violet thought since her mother is high in power, being the head game maker, maybe she could somehow stop the games. So the teenager finally had the courage to tell her mother how she felt last week, and Volumnia shot her down; she even went so low as to bring up how her father would be saddened that his own daughter, didn't want to avenge him. The weird statement made Violet run to her room in tears.

Since then, they have been co-existing in their own home like roommates who don't like each other. Violet made it to the huge kitchen, to see a beautiful breakfast layout on the glossy wooden table. Made by the chefs no doubt. Violet quickly grabbed a container from the cabinet making sure it didn't slam, and dumped a plate of sausages, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and the silverware into it.

Violet briskly walked to the exit further into the kitchen- "Ah, there is my little miracle." Volumnia is so glad she awoke before her daughter, listening from her room wondering when her daughter would come to her senses. However, Volumnia knows she needs to put aside her feelings, and send her daughter off today with a good start. As much as it pained her that Violet is starting to think revenge isn't necessary, it pained her more to think she made her daughter not be able to confide in her.

Violet closed her eyes for a second before opening them again and tensed, slowly turning to face her mother at her warm greeting. "Mom." Violet nodded her head. A moment of silence passes, as the two just stare at each other until Violet speaks. "Well i'm going to go, i'm going to be late."
"I know you, my little miracle. Volumnia starts with a smile, walking more into the kitchen as she pulls out a chair to sit down in. "At this rate, you'll be early. Sit".

Violet reluctantly walks over, and sits down in a chair at the head of the table. The farthest she could sit from her birth giver. "I wanted to apologize. What I said about your father, was out of line. I'm sorry". Volumnia tilted her head a little hoping her daughter would find her words more Interesting, than that doorknob she's been staring at since she sat down. "I love what you've done with your hair". Volumnia compliments; her gentle smile drops at her daughters words.

"Mom if you know me, then you know I want to be early. Can I go now? Violet asks with hostility, her right leg unconsciously starting to bounce.
Volumnia slowly nodded her head with a sigh, knowing Violet will have to forgive her on her own. Violet moved quickly. Just as she grasps the door handle, she stops at her mother's voice. "I love you my little miracle."
Violet looks at her mother giving her a quick "I love you too", before leaving out the door.
