BABIES were heard, crying loudly in the small village called Hage. A relatively small village in the outskirts of the Clover Kingdom, it was mostly underdeveloped with houses just planted randomly along the grassy field.
Apart of the Forsaken Realm, those who live here bear low magic power. Most aren't able to become Magic Knights, so they live their life planting in the field for yul.
It was a foggy morning, but Father Orsi was awake. It has become a habit for him to wake up early each morning to maintain the church's cleanliness. He approached the babies, eyes softening as he knelt down to observe the babies.
"More abandoned babies?" He questioned skeptically. He brought all the babies inside, lighting a fire using his magic. The fireplace lit up, giving a calm, warm vibe.
He was carrying the fussiest child of all the three children, a white-haired boy. "There, there. Here we are." Father Orsi said, handling the child with care. He approached his well-made bed with two baskets on it, putting the child in the first basket.
Father Orsi put a hand on his back, stretching it. His back hurt with all the bending and sweeping, even more so now that there are children included in the mix.
Sighing, he looked down and examined the three children, who were now calmed down. "You three have finally settled down." He said, his back cracking with how much he has been stretching it.
"Are they triplets.. or siblings?" Father Orsi asked, curious. He looked at the difference of the three children, and it was very easy to differentiate which one was richer.
The two children, both raven-haired, had a necklace in between the two of them. Exotic cloth was wrapped around them both, and the baby girl was dressed in clothes almost as extravagant as the Lady Acier Silva herself.
He looked at the three children, examining other features. "These two seem well-behaved.. While this one, he seems rather spirited." Father Orsi commented.
The so-called spirited one smiled, drooling on the pillow and smiling. It was as if he was eating during his dream - but there was one thing, he couldn't even eat yet due to the lack of teeth he bore. "They don't look alike at all." He said, rubbing his chin.
Father Orsi brought their blanket down, feeling the soft fibers rub his skin gently. He saw names on their clothes, and a small nametag not far from their hand.
"Yuno.. and (Y/n)." Father Orsi read, now looking at the nametags they carried with them. "Yuno.." Father Orsi trailed off, struggling to read the wiped-off nametag.
Father Orsi now looked at the other nametag, seeing the last name being rubbed off. "(Y/n) Augustine Victoria." He read out loud, looking at her face and taking his time to remember it. "And this spirited child over here is.." He said with a smile, turning to the second child.
He was kicked in the face by a baby's foot, harshly. The baby started laughing loudly, as if he enjoyed what he did. Yet, Father Orsi was able to pull a bit of the child's blanket off.
"You're a bit too spirited!" Father Orsi said, his voice cracking as small tears formed in the corner of his eye. He held his bleeding nose, standing up and smiling at the small children infront of him.
He looked at the child's name, reading the name 'Asta.' Putting his hands on his hips, he smiled joyfully as he tried to ignore the pain coming from his bleeding nose.
"All right, don't worry about a thing." Father Orsi said. He let out a comforting aura as he stared at the loud child. "From now on, this is your home, Asta, Yuno, and (Y/n)." He said, thinking about the endless possibilities.
A part of him felt happy that he took the children in, and another part of him was curious. He wondered why children were just left on the doorstep.
And what bothered his the most was why two children, who were wrapped in the finest cloth in probably the whole of the Clover Kingdom appeared on the same morning as a lower-classed child. Even more so, how did nobody notice?
So many questions ran through Father Orsi's head. He wondered who the parents were, and why three children were left in the Outskirts of the Clover Kingdom.
Surely, those two children in the same basket didn't bear any commoner blood. It also scared Father Orsi, he wondered what happened to the three children's parents. Were they dead? Were they alright?
Father Orsi sighed, wiping the sweat off his forehead as he grabbed a chair from nearby. He sat down, grabbing the book he left the previous night and opening it.
"Maybe I could learn about these children in this book." Father Orsi said, looking at the Table of Contents the book had on display. He knew that it was just a book full of fairytales, but he hoped deep inside that some of these fairytales could someday come true.
