HE FIXED HIS MUSTACHE HAIR RANDOMLY, allowing all to feast their eyes on his mustache curling a little more each time he tugged on it. Everyone looked up at him expectantly. Pssh, who would even expect something from him?
"This exam will consists of a team competition, the Crystal Destruction Battle Tournament!" He declared, playing around with his baton.
His big belly protruded, causing the middle part of his clothes to stretch. I won't be surprised if that so happens to tear itself, if you would ask me to be honest.
A large diamond appeared over him, Marx, and the Magic Emperor. Team competition, crystal breaking, huh, that all sounds too good to be true. There must be some sort of catch. That would be too easy for me, especially with Meira.
I wonder what the rules would be. If spirit companions are banned, all I would mostly be doing are some small attacks and some supplementaries.
Please don't have complicated rules. My competitiveness is literally roaring inside of me right now. Thank the Magic Emperor that he didn't decide to have this as a one-on-one.
Well, because if he did, my opponent must already be dead after one spell from Meira. Unless they're a Vice Captain, just like our Langris, or a Captain, like Captain William. I don't think I would stand a chance against them.
"The rules are simple!" He yelled out, his arm now moving back as if trying to point to the large gem levitating above them.
Eugh, he looks absolutely hideous. "You must protect the crystal that is within your area. The first team to destroy the other team's crystal wins." He declared.
That sounds easy enough. I turned to look at my grimoire resting on my belt, pulling it out of the pouch and flipping through the pages. As long as Meira can be used, everything will go smoothly. We'll be the winning team, no doubt.
Thank goodness. I wanna be in the same team as Noelle. We're going to be teaching that stupid braid-face Nozel and his twig siblings some lessons.
"If neither team is able to destroy a crystal within the 30-minute time minute, the team that has delivered the most damage wins." We're going to use the high damage, then.
He then started stuttering nervously, freezing. Sweat glistening on his forehead, making him look oily. That's disgusting. "The reason this format was chosen is.. It's.." He froze as Meira yawned, looking at him with a bored expression.
His eyes went wide as the tention grew stronger, "Because.." He said, not knowing what to say as the Magic Emperor faked a cough, distracting the audience momentarily.
He raised a single finger up, looking down at everyone. "When battling the Eye of the Midnight Sun, you need to work with other Magic Knights." He said. Yeah, yeah, right.
They're most likely doing that after the incident of Fuegoleon getting his arm cut off. I don't blame them, though. Great magic going to waste isn't good, especially if they have the rare types of magic, like me.
"Now, I will reveal the teams." He declared with a smile. A large projection was sent up in the sky, causing me to look up. Oh, I'm teamed up with Noelle.
I suppose we are that lucky. I'm paired with someone quite reliable for defense and offense if you manage to push her enough.
"Sorry for being late," Someone said from somewhere above us. Huh.. How is his voice so calm and relaxed yet so loud? I'm going to guess—he has sound magic, or something of the sorts. Who even is this man?
Curiousity killed the cat as I turned my head to look up and see a man standing on top of the venue.
He jumped down to the stage where the Magic Emperor stood calmly—as if he was a very close friend to the Magic Emperor.
