"Really felt like going extravagant, didn't you?" Jihoon chuckles from the back seat.
I look at the house in front of me, wondering how the hell Soonyoung reserved something this nice in a matter of hours. Though, if I were to ask, I'd get another are you stupid? look.
Seungcheol pulls up in front of the cabin—no, mansion—in the woods. The lights are already on, both inside and outside the home. A faint blue light shines, illuminating the morning sky. The house is three levels, with mostly glass windows and a sleek, dark exterior.
Seungcheol reaches underneath the steering wheel, pulling on the wires until the car sputters off.
I'm surprised it's made it this far, honestly.
"Let's go check this place out," Seokmin groans, stretching his arms above his head. "I'm tired of sitting in this ashtray of a car."
We all hop out of the car, gliding into the morning light as we slip into the snow. Our feet crunch loudly as we walk up the wide driveway that has been freshly plowed. Soonyoung checks his phone as he walks up to the door. On the frame is a keypad, and he narrows his eyes on the screen of his phone as he types in the code.
The keypad slides open, revealing a small, gold key inside. Soonyoung lifts it out, turning to the front door and shoving it into the lock. It turns seamlessly, and he opens the door, revealing expensive tiled floors. A massive, plush rug sits in front of the door, and we all step inside, slipping off our shoes and walking into the house.
The warmth of the tiled floors seeps into my damp socks, and I turn around and glance at Joshua. "Heated floors."
Relief floods his face as he steps onto the tiles. "Shit, that feels so good," he groans as he walks down the hallway.
"Look at this place," Seokmin smiles, running his fingers through his snowy hair.
We walk down the hallway, which opens to a large, extravagant kitchen. The counters are a crisp white marble which flow into dark gray cabinets. Stainless-steel appliances against a dark backsplash. The entire kitchen is a chef's dream.
Large, wooden beams extend across the vaulted ceilings. A large sectional couch sits in front a fireplace that's built into the stone wall which extends all the way up to the second story. Glass windows extend around the entire wall of the cabin, showing off the snow-covered trees.
Jihoon and Seokmin walk into the living room and plop down on the couch while Soonyoung walks up to the fireplace and starts building a fire.
"How long are we staying here?" I ask, walking toward the kitchen. I haven't drank anything since before we broke into the jail. I open cupboard after cupboard until I find some tall, slanted glass cups. Going to the sink, I fill it up to the brim with water then swallow it down in three gulps. And repeat.
"This is what we need, not water," Joshua grunts, and I glance over to the sound of clanking glass. He pulls out a bottle of wine, tilting it toward the ceiling. He smiles as he wipes his hand down the front label. "Perfect."
"Pour me a glass, Josh," Soonyoung says, his voice echoing inside the firepit.
Joshua nods, walking to the cupboard with the glasses. He presses on his tiptoes, reaching as far as he can to grab the rest of the glasses.
"Back to my question, how long are we staying here?" I ask again, grabbing one of the empty glasses and shoving it in front of Joshua.
"We have this place booked until tomorrow. But I think we should leave in the middle of the night. We have to move when it's dark out," Soonyoung says, staring out the back windows.
